Nah. They will be a playoff team but they went from soft to supersoft with Hedo replacing Marion. Their starting 5 will score a ton of points, but they are no where near as complete and talented as ours is, especially if we get Bass. Also, they don't have anybody close to Pietrus coming off their bench.

Nyce, how do you know these things? I may have missed it in the past so sorry if it's something you've explained before.

 

Nyce and I are good friends...I frequently call him to discuss the team...John Denton and I are good friends...we discuss Magic insider stuff together...John called me tonight about 10:30 on his way home from RDV Sportsplex after attending the summer league...I could tell he was a little down about this.

 

Anyway, John wanted me to tell you guys he wasn't deserting you...he got caught up in a numbers game and lost his job like many others in this current economic climate.

 

I called Nyce and told him what I knew and let him type it up because he is much better than me and faster and I was ready to go to bed, lol.

 

Lastly, he called me back and woke me up to tell me about this trade exception, lol...just kidding Nyce...I'm glad he woke me up for this news...

 

Thanks for the insights. I feel bad for Denton who seems like an old school reporter. Everyday there are fewer of those left. I hope he keeps writing about the Magic.

 

And thanks for the inside info. I check this board before any other media site for Magic info. It's a one stop shop.

Ever notice how the stuff Otis is reported saying usually ends up being true. It was said that he was splitting the MLE and everyone flipped. But then we hear about the big TE and Otis turns into a genius.

 

I've always trusted Otis and the way he handled the team. He seems to always have a grand plan in mind. I'm a little excited to see what we do to finish the free agency. I'd guess we end up with Bass, Barnes, Ratliff, and maybe one more with the TE if OS wants to drop some cash.

Pietrus might end up starting next season.

yeah otis is the man but hey are u guys forgetten about our old GM. he was the man come on now picking up doug cristi how sweet was that. i thought i heard he was trying to make a come back lets sign him again
