I don't see how you head into the season with a weak 3rd PG behind a starter w/serious durability issues & a backup who is a weak link in your rotation. Upgrade the backup and it makes sense to have a young backup.

 

Russell knows his role, but I don't think a poor man's Jaque Vaughn is an asset.
