I've been all for trading Turk to fill holes, but Gerald Wallace? Give me a break...

He wouldn't make this team better at all. He'd just create more problems. He gets injured every year and he would duplicate the same problem we already have, two sf's in the starting line up.

The only logical reason to trade Turk would be to get a PF and or PG. Trading him for Gerald Wallace would just be stupid.

Oh and Jareth, no way Portland will ship out Outlaw. Guy's a baller.

They have Batum and Webster. Not to mention Rudy and Roy can play the 3.

If they trade Outlaw I will send you a lifetime supply of moist towelettes.

...for whatever reason that was the first thing that popped in my mind. I swear i'm crazy

10 bucks says they trade Outlaw sometime in his NBA career.

10 dollars says he ate pancakes this morning.

Fine then how about this smart guy.

Is that you Matt Millien? This trade does nothing for the Bobcats, and there giving up the most. You know Curry and James both have player option on there contract too, and ain't no way that they would opt themselves out of that money.

Sources: Bobcats to trade Wallace

quote:
Multiple NBA sources have confirmed that Charlotte moving Gerald Wallace is imminent, but Pro Basketball News has yet to learn of a definitive destination at this time.

The Bobcats have apparently talked about Wallace's long-term value to the franchise (he signed a six-year, $57 million extension in July of 2007) and decided that they would be better suited allocating such a significant salary to somebody else.

Who? Word is we'll know much sooner than later.

Yahoo! Sports reported in late October that Michael Jordan was talked out of trading Wallace in the offseason, but four games have apparently been enough to convince head coach Larry Brown that the Bobcats can afford to part with Wallace.

Golden State would be an ideal destination for Wallace, who

would fit right in with the Warriors' up-and-down style. Forward

Al Harrington, who has fallen out of favor with head coach

Don Nelson and demanded a trade that he's been told will

be granted at some point, is owed $19.3 million through next

season ($9.3 this year and $10 next at player option) and would

be the ideal pawn in a deal.

Considering New York has also been tied as a possible

destination for Harrington, the fact the Knicks have Eddy Curry collecting dust also makes them a potential partner in a multiple-team deal.

Pro Basketball News has also been hearing since preseason that the Portland Trail Blazers have been seeking out teams for a blockbuster move as well, with no one outside of Greg Oden, LaMarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy considered untouchable.

There are rumors that Charlotte has also been said to have grown displeased with the inconsistent play of Raymond Felton and is also ready to pull the plug on Adam Morrison, so a massive shakeup could be in the works. This is not uncharted territory for Brown, who last looked to significantly shake up the Knicks roster following his disastrous first season in New York and was fired instead, replaced by then-president Isiah Thomas.

It appears that Brown has a more willing listener in his new boss, who has apparently grown tired of the product he's currently putting out there. The Bobcats have not won more than 33 games in their four-year existence and look no closer to being playoff contender than they were in their expansion season, but are about to get a face lift.

i see a trade between just cha and por going down-no third team involved. charlotte sends out wallace in and they get lamarcus aldridge, ike, and sergio rodriguez.

i heard they are trying to move aldridge, they have plenty of 4's anyway, and sergio is officially on the block now. ike makes the contracts work.

not only does portland get a playmaker, but they clear up some roster spots/ roster questions.

charlotte gets back much needed size-the direction they are going to go. they would have a pretty good team on paper...not much depth, but if you can get a solid 7-8 man rotation you can make some noise in the playoffs.

Oops, I just posted that link in the "Trade with Portland?" thread.

Either way, we should get involved. Hedo is a much better option for Portland than Crash is.

Would you do it?

Branden Wright isn't going anywhere right now.

yea, they are planning to give Wright Harrington's minutes once he's gone...they are expected Wright to breakout this season...no deal...

There is a reason that Otis didn't express that much interest in Wallace last summer. He doesn't believe that Wallace is a good fit in this system. I like Wallace a lot but I have to agree with that.

Crash would do really well in Don Nelson's system. I have him on my fantasy team and I hope to God that deal happens.

Would any of you shop Turk for G-Force? He's signed for what I'd expect Turk to get offered. And he's locked up long term.

Like, a YEAR ago. Where do I sign up?

here and there yes, but he's missed games every season with Orlando with the exception of last season. Also many of the games where he was feeling the effects of Turkaflu he only played limited minutes...Plus he has missed games with back issues in the past...I wont count the broken elbow he suffered a few years back, that's one of those things...
