Jareth Cutestory 678 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 Week of 10/29-11/1 ESPN [Marc Stein] quote: #16Perhaps the drop here should have been steeper. Based on the standards set by last season's 16-4 start, Orlando pretty much ran unopposed for the unwanted mantle of Week 1's Most Disappointing Team. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/powerranking NBA.com [John Schuhmann] quote: #15Until Saturday's comfortable win over the Kings, the Magic were clearly the most disappointing team of the season's first week, losing to the Hawks at home and to the Grizzlies in Memphis. Now, they have four more at home, including a Thursday night TNT matchup with the Sixers, which could tell us a lot about both squads. http://www.nba.com/powerrankings/

Berto 338 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 That's about right. It's never a good idea to start off the season losing to Atlanta and Memphis.
Murphy13 185 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 losing to atlanta wasnt so bad imo because they are a pretty good team. losing to them out of the gate with such high expecatations is dissappointing though. losing to memphis is unacceptable. at the moment ill agree with where we are at...i think atl should be higher though. Nick Anderson 4 President 9 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 I agree with us being one of the most disappointing teams this first week. It isn't just the fact that we lost our first two games, it's that we looked downright ugly doing so. Hopefully we'll start putting some wins together and get a streak going. Ryan-Aussie Magic 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 Problem being we lost to MEMPHIS Not a good team, and should always win the home opener especially since it was against a lesser team.

Jareth Cutestory 678 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 SI.com [Marty Burns] quote: #12Their offense isn't the only thing that's off to a shaky start. Upset over his team's poor shooting in a last-second 86-84 loss to the Grizzlies, Magic coach Stan Van Gundy accidentally dropped the f bomb on live local TV. SVG immediately apologized, but he admitted after that he "may get something [from the NBA]." Or perhaps from the FCC. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/marty_bur...s/index.html?eref=T1
