Ok I'm watching again. It's like a car accident. I just can't turn away.

These next five games are going to be really tough. Especially if you factor in what we did in the previous stretch of what looked to be five easier games. This could really hurt.

Just watched this game this morning and my day is ruined. How do you get torched by a bunch of 10 day contracts? At this point the Magic have three untouchable players Vuc, Payton and Gordon. I don't get the fact that at the beginning of the year we were sold that we would have a young athletic defensive minded team and we have evolved into this. I don't think JV is an NBA coach but this game wasn't all on him, there were three guys out there playing with heart at all the rest were just going through the motions. In JV's after game pressers I wonder why he finds it so difficult to give Payton any real praise for his work? "He did a (pause) commendable job. Really. I think he D ed up like a mad man and dished out 11 assists which could have easily been 15 or 16 if his team mates made a few more open shots. At this point I'm looking for a lot more traffic on the 2015 draft page. On an unrelated matter, props to Klay Thompson.

We all know when you play bad you won't get the calls but how can Vuc take 22 shots mostly inside and only get to the line 2 times?

So true there. With Harris in maybe Tony Allen wouldn't have been able to switch on Oladipo. I'm sure one of them would have been able to create some offense. -
GAME THREAD: HOUSTON AT ORLANDO
Spaceman replied to The Neighborhood Bully's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
This was the first game in a loooong time that I was really looking forward to, and the boys didn't disappoint. Loved the intensity of the "Killer Vs" I would have liked to have seen VUC Gasol Dwight but I guess outplaying him and getting the win is good enough. I'm also glad JV has finally realized that Victor is a 2 guard. These guys did great again against a very good team but I really think Peyton is the one making this thing go. The way he was pestering Beverly full court really took a lot of time off Houstons half court sets disrupting their natural flow. Also his new wrinkle of taking it to the lane and"Hey this guy might actually shoot" gives us so many possibilities. Lastly the dude plays fast but is relaxed. On the play where he was pinned on the baseline and found Vic for the power dunk you could see his facial expression was just so chill. Another big test coming up against a very good defensive team in Memphis. It should be interesting to see how JV integrates Harris into this new scheme. -
Easily the best game of the year a total team EFFORT. Vuc is just an angry beast see you at the all star game. Dipo played great at both ends glad to see him close this one out in style. Payton (running) the point and actually looking for his shot was a thing of beauty. Marble played a complete game running, passing and shutting down Butler. Good effort from everyone on the bench. Frey ? Oh and JV was standing up and coaching the entire game. You could see these guys getting winded but as young as they are and if you sub right this is how we should be playing. On a side note Vuc was fouled on that dunk.

I didn't get to watch this game but it must have been horrible because the Magic texting service didn't even bother sending them out. I try not to be negative but this team needs some continuity bad. It seems we are to the point where JV is just sending out whatever, except Harkless.

Magic got lucky in the fourth quarter with a line up that was just playing loose and hustling. In the last 30 or so seconds when they really needed to formulate a plan and come up with a play JV fell dreadfully short again. I hear a lot about the inexperience of the players but it's the coaching staff as well.

I guess Stan cutting a near max player outright sent a powerful message. Pistons should make the playoffs. I really miss Stan's no BS approach. -

Best TV show ever. -
It's good to see us beat a bad team. That's what a team like the Magic are supposed to do. We play better on the road than at home.

I don't post a lot on this board but I do like to read what other fans are thinking. You young lady (if you are a lady) can't really believe all this stuff you put on this board. You're just trying to make the rest of us feel really smart, and doing a great job. -
What happened to the Magic from earlier this season?

Just watched the game this morning. That's some time I'll never get back ouch. I thought this team was supposed to be young and athletic, they sure didn't look like it to me. Plillis D-league defense held us under 90 points and we were lucky to get that. Soft both mentally and physically. -
GAMETHREAD: UTAH @ ORLANDO

Did you notice in JVs after game press conference when asked about Paytons' good game all he could say was he made some mistakes? Either he didn't watch the game or he was still trying to justify not starting him. Last week JV was giving us all that about Willie Green earning playing time, what about EP ? Please start him before it's too late. -

Atlanta Hawks @ Orlando Magic Episode II: Return of the Vooch
Spaceman replied to CTMagicUK's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I'm glad to see the boys pull out the win. In post game interviews Harris,Fournier and Ben Gordon all said that the coach got into them about the loss the night before. That's good because in two plus years I've yet to see him show any real emotion. I really think JV did a better job tonight win or lose, he subbed a little better not the full blown hockey line changes like in games before. This was a game the Magic deserved to win. -
Agreed agreed. The Harris foul was a John Wall FLOP. Also the Willie Green foul on Butler was BS but until we start winning a few close games those calls will continue to go against us. Also VO dribbling out the clock with 16 seconds left from 30 feet from the rim with no one else even moving is not an offensive strategy. I would think a professional coach could come up with something better. Tough loss.

His skills have deteriorated and his contract is way too expensive. I can't even put him in the top 10 point guards at this point. Plus who would you trade for him?

Are we better without Victor Oladipo?
Spaceman replied to Catalina Maria's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
No. Victor is coming off two injuries and it's easy to see he doesn't have his wind. Look at him during dead ball situations, bent over hands on knees and breathing really heavy. I don't know if it's lack of training camp or maybe that mask but his energy just isn't right. Besides that he's an effing two guard playing point trying to do too much. Like many others on this board I can't figure out why JV won't play him and Payton together... it's so obvious. Given a little room to roam the floor without the ball playing with a point that can actually get him the ball in good spots is all he needs.
