I've seen Phoenix-Utah yesterday, I was interested in both teams cause we're going to play both of them in the west trip, and I was curious to see the new look of the Suns. And what I see is without a doubt the best match I've watch this season, between two solid and good teams. I know, Phoenix is still finding a way to forget D'Antoni style, but they still have a lot of good pieces on the team and time will help them to adapt to the new coach. Utah is suffering a lot of injuries in this early part of the season, but they're without a doubt a team that could go into the west Finals. What about a Turkish swap? Hedo for Okur is something I would like to see. I know Okur defense is not very good, but Hedo isn't either... Okur is a legit PF, would allow Shard to play his natural position, without losing our perimeter system, cause he can hit threes (and big shots at the end of the game).

The four games are against the Clippers, Trailblazers, Suns, and Jazz. I could see anything from 2-2 to 4-0, between Portland being a little off as of late and all of Utah's injury problems. I'd be disappointed if the Magic didn't beat the Clips and Suns. If I had to predict, I'd bet they'll go 3-1 and split the difference. Get your coffee ready.... Good night and good luck. Great job Sky. I would take a 2-2 in those 4 games (and a 3-2 in the trip beating the Warriors in the last one) Winning in Portland or in Salt Lake City would be a big bonus, the Clippers are improving and the Suns are struggling to find consistence, but Phoenix is still a difficult place to win.

He checks in after Wilcox went on foul trouble, shots an awful airball, got abused by Dwight, pick two quick fouls and never re-entered the game, altough he didn't seem to suffer any injuries. I have seen him playing two games (not considering yesterday) and I'm not really sold on him. I would like to see K-bo resigne too, but I doubt we'll find the cap space to do it, altough a lot of things could change before next summer. I would take Atkins only giving up Cook, but I consider that very unlikely. Anyway, I think that Denver gives up the hope to have cap space for big free agents aquisitions when they make the Billups/Iverson deal (that BTW is working very well for them in term of results) and they're only interested in not paying the luxury tax.

A combined 4/21 by Hedo and Shard isn't helping the cause, and having forgotten Dwight (only 5 points on putbacks) after the first half isn't a good sign. But at the end of the game, only the W matters. -

Another solid contribution from Tony, 8p 5r 1b 1s. But we're always forgetting that we have Dwight in the paint... -

Offensive rebs are killing us... 12-0. We need more effort on this area. Dwight is half the way of another triple-double.

The Warlock check in and immediately cause an important third foul on Jefferson.

OS: Nelson possible to return tonight vs. Wolves

Don't forget that Minny won in Detroit ten days ago. They're not a great team, but they can pull a great victory sometimes. If we comes out focused after monday loss, we'll win it without a lot of problems. But if we comes out flat, thinking that Minny is not a big deal, we could have problems. And I hope Nelson will sit tonight, we need him 100% in the west trip.

quote: Originally posted by Skywise316: Stock Up: Tony Battie. (Almost a one man wrecking crew, I said. Battie did his part, but on a night like this, a big thumbs down to SVG for not playing Battie for more than 24 minutes. If not that, then what's wrong with Gortat being our eighth man tonight in the rotation?? Their guards were killing us, so we needed more size to compete and maybe beat their frontcourt with ours. I don't think SVG's come all the way around to the fact that conventional basketball sometimes DOES have its advantages. As it is Battie still shot 4 of 5 for 9 points and had 7 rebounds. He was also the only Magic player who had a positive plus/minus tonight. Another clue that SVG should of played him more. His only negative was 1 for 4 from the free throw line, we could of used a 3 for 4 night.) Stock Down: J.J. Redick. (Redick shot five times. ALL five were three point shots. He's gotta mix it up a little better than that... I get upset when Rashard only guns and nothing else, Redick was pretty guilty of that. He had 3 assists, 3 boards, only 1 turnover, and a steal, but could he or any other Magic guard play pick and roll defense any worse? Could a big guy show out and not leave Ray Allen and Rondo wide open all night from all distances? Or at least tell the guards that a pick is coming?? I understand the delusion after the game, but this time I have to disagree with your daily stocks. Tony did his things as always, but nothing different from the previous game. Maybe the fact that his teammates didn't look very well makes him looks better. He also disappear a little in the second half, altough I agree that Stan didn't use him properly. Stock in the middle IMO. On the other side, JJ stock was already down after the Indiana game, and he didn't play any worse last night. Another Stock in the middle IMO. Love the stock up on your 3000 post (congrats!!!) Overall, I'm not disappointed, and I think this is a valuable lesson for our future and for Dwight. We're not here, not yet at least, and we have work to do and injuries to recover. A win, or a close loss, would have worried me more if possible.... for creating false expectations. At this point of the season, I prefer to have our guys fired up and with their head in the upcoming west trip. BTW, those two games with Minny and OKC could help us to get back on track but are really dangerous in term of concentration.
