We easily tend to forget that the awful Cook was the player seen just after the trade. But just before his injury, he was playing quite well, being our 6th man off the bench and sometimes torching the other team with back to back 3s. He was also starting to be more agressive and rebounding better. I already post that before, but I believe we miss him a lot in playoffs: before his injury, we always getting bigger when Turk or Lewis went off the floor, but after that we were forced to play small ball, and eventually this fact killed us against Detroit.

I'm wondering why every single thread ends up being a Arroyo or JJ case, altough it wasn't created for that. Thanks for the info Junkie.

  6. quote: Originally posted by MAGICFAN365:ok then i take a step back and say that my opinion is that a trade involving jj would be more valuable than a trade involving bogans. part of the reason i say that is because i believe that whenever the trade deadlone was going down last year people were inquiring about jj and not bogans. i do not disagree with your point that someone who played alot is likely to be more valuable than someone who got garbage time but i think that in a trade involving cook and a pick, jj would be more enticing to teams then bogans due to his potential more than bogans actual skill set. jj potentially could be better at what he would bring(shooting) to a team then bogans would be bringing to a team(defense). If we're speaking about potential, I'm with you. But if we're speaking about trading value right now, I will say Bogans. Not forgetting that everyone in the league knows that JJ isn't happy with his playing time here, and when a player ask to be moved, his trading value automatically decrease. Just my opinion anyway.
  7. quote: Originally posted by MagicManMatt13: Alright after reading and understanding that, it seems pretty ludacris to think that. I'm not trying to say that he would be starting or an all star or anything like that, just that it would have been great if we owuld have drafted him a year ago instead of that serbian guy that is highly likely going to never be good enough to make our roster. Hey Matt, maybe I'm wrong, but I think that you're only mentioning statistics that you read somewhere in the web, while I live in Spain and I see him playing almost every week in the last 3 years. He's a very good player, I like him, and I'm not saying that he's not going to contribute for his team in NBA, but in my opinion he hasn't played enough in the bigger stage in Europe (Euroleague) With one more year in Europe, he surely would have made a bigger impact, but I respect his decision and I will route for him anyway. BTW, he's still a center, and this is not our biggest need at the moment. I'm with you that he's a lot better than Rakovic, but the Fran fiasco surely affect Otis decision. Not mentioning that Marc really explode last year, and wasn't so high considered a year ago

I disagree. you disagree that a trade involving jj/cook/pick would be more appealing to other teams then a trade involving bogans/cook/pick? First of all, I find quite pretending that you're assuming all the thousands of people posting in this forum are thinking the same of you. So, you're asking me if I believe that a solid player, coming out of a good year and with an expiring contract, is more appealing than a unproven player that comes off the bench only in garbage time? Right now my answer is: absolutely YES!

  10. Woah! This seems a (funny) war between Denton and the Sentinel. Denton start the Marbury%Tinsley rumor, and Schmitz immediately broke it. Schmitz say goodbye to Redick, and Denton catch him to affirm the contrary. In every article in Florida Today, he's repeating that the Pietrus contract was about 25m worth, while the Sentinel say 22m. But Denton already win that war with the breaking news of the signing of Pietrus, whit the Sentinel assuming that Otis was waiting for Maggette.
  11. quote: Originally posted by Jareth Cutestory: quote: Originally posted by TrueMagicFan07: quote: Originally posted by D-BoFats:If Redick stays, I'd put him 2nd in line, in front of CLee and behind Pietrus at SG. Then, I'd try to trade Bogans for a backup PG. Nyce, D-Bo! Otis please trade Bogans. He was not all that great on defense last season, and all he did was camp out in the corner on the 3pt line. He didn't do so great there either. So by your logic we trade the guy who played all season long last year and had value to a 52 win team, instead of the guy who played good in college and hasn't done anything in the league yet? Unless Bogans gets traded for some value in a package deal, I think you trade JJ first. I know that this is a longshot, and Otis will never made it, but I would love to trade both of them and have Evans back. So, right now in this thread we have 15 person posting and 12 different points of view. Difficult task to be a GM...
  12. quote: Originally posted by MagicManMatt13: While Pau is softer than my pillow his brother is much tougher than him (even though thats not saying much). Look at the guys size and weight, he looks like Pau version 2.0. He is listed at 7-1, 280-pounds. You heard it here first.....big mistake! He's really stronger and tougher, but at the same time he has less talent, less range and less quickness than Pau. And he's a center (no way he can play PF) a position in which we're covered well. I believe that he hurried up his decision a little, another year in Spain and his first Euroleague experience would have helped a lot his game.

Pietrus Video Interview - Orlando Sentinal

The press conference and the interview was quite hilarious, he seems to be a good guy. He says that he'll wear the 20 because his mother born on 20th June.

Watch the Orlando Pro Summer League

I like Lee, and not only for his stats. He seems a very smart player, I'm quite sure he'll contribute. Gortat is playing better and better every game, he was quite nervous in the first two games, trying to do so much and overplaying a little bit. Auggie is solid too today, first good game for him.
  15. quote: Originally posted by Marc Acres 3:16:I will say no to all of the above unless Livingston were signed to a non guarenteed contract. As far as I know those don't exist so there you go. Well, we can call him for a workout and see his real situation, because right now, it's all speculation. I'm sure that there are drills to prove if he's ready to play. Nothing to lose with that. But I'm pretty sure that the Clippers had already do that and notice that he isn't ready.
  16. quote: Originally posted by Skywise316: quote: Originally posted by Luke_FfS:Please call him with his real nickname, peaches sounds really GAY !!!! Seconded! Air France for the love of Nick Anderson. All I'm saying is "Peaches" is not the manliest nickname in the history of nicknames. Thank you! I'm wondering why we want use a nickname introduced by a Warrior fan(?) that was killing this forum. And no, I'm not calling him gay, I've only said that this SOUNDS really marica!
  17. Please call him with his real nickname, peaches sounds really GAY !!!!
  18. Thanks at both of you. This is actually good for the Magic... the management seems to be in cheap configurtion.
  19. Count me on the group that don't want any cancer in the team... And count me too in the group that didn't believe that tose players will accept the vet minimum (as I was believing that Maggette would NEVER sign for the MLE with any team). I have one question put in another thread that is still unanswered. How many players a team can sign with the vet exception?

    Jameer's contract extension

quote: Originally posted by EnFuego:If Beno Udrih agreed to a five-year, $33 million, how bad is Jameer's contract then? I haven't watched Beno play that much. Is he that much better than Jameer? They overpaid a player that only make an half good season in his career. And the "we overpaid Nelson thread" is very old and boring...
  21. Bad news here: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/basketball/magic/...1008,0,4319742.story I hope they're wrong. I like the fact that Pietrus contract seems to be cheaper than predicted.
  22. quote: Originally posted by Skywise316:If Dooling doesn't return what do people feel about Jameer 1st string, J-Will 2nd string, and Darrell Armstrong 3rd string? If SVG needs sudden defense at the point because of a bad matchup, Armstong and C-Lee can tandem enough minutes together to make a difference. Not the better solution for me, but better than not having three real PG's. I have one doubt. How much players can a team sign with the veteran exception? I mean, clearly the MLE is only one, the LLE is unlimited?

Dooling not returning to O. Magic (O. Sen)

It's really not that diificult, until you factor in the possible Hedo contract extension nightmare that Otis will be faced with. How much exactly is Hedo worth if Shard is making 22 million? LOL Good point! Sure next year we'll be in trouble with the luxury tax, and I really doubt that we're going to sign another player for the full MLE. Anyway, I hope that there is another cause: Dooling's agent has spread the word that 7 teams are interested in him, but right now, we really didn't know so much about those teams and how much they are willing to pay him. We all love Kenyon intensity and toughness, but I'm not sure at all that there's any team ready to pay him 5m in a multiyears contract. Maybe Otis is playing with the market, and waiting until the price is lower.... yeah, it's a risk, but sometimes is better a gamble than overpaying.
