Most point guards' value will drop in such systems because hockey assists don't get recorded. A point guard's going to average more assists in a run and gun system where he makes all the plays (Suns, old Knicks), than he would on a system like the Magic that encourages the extra passes or the triangle where the point guard's job is mostly setting up the play for the post-player. But it drops in terms of people not understanding different systems and just assuming a random point guard with 7 assists > a random point guard with 5 assists, without taking into account who they play for and their responsibilities within their own offense schemes.

I actually don't know it all, and can both admit to this and actually try to learn a thing or two. Isn't that better than the I-don't-know-anything-but-i'll-post-about-it-anyways?

I don't think people understand what overpaid means. Jameer was making just around the average salary for a starting point guard in the NBA, and that's what he played like, an average starting point guard in the NBA. He sometimes played well above his salary, sometimes he didn't. Do yourselves a favor and actually, oh I don't know. . . look things up. I know that making an ass out of yourself and posting things without any real knowledge is almost a requirement lately, but be a trendsetter and at least try not to sound like ignorant murlocks.

None of those guys player in this era's Spanish and Premier league. You can't compare 50 goals in 2011 to 50 goals in 2005. One thing you can learn from guys like Wilt Chamberlain and more currently LeBron James, stats do lie. As you said, it is a team game, and if you score 3 goals in a game but your team still loses, then those goals aren't as valuable. I will say that Messi is safe being regarded as the best player on possibly the best club in the history of the game, but I don't think you can be considered one of the greatest until you achieve World Cup greatness. As far as Figo and Raul goes, those are just names that popped in my head, I could go into more depth and would probably take those names out, maybe add a few, but it was just a quick reply, nothing concrete or extremely well thought out.

I've watched and played soccer since I was a kid, so I lurk. With that said, in no particular order, Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo and dinho, Zidane, Beckenbauer then u have guys like Gerd Muller, Zico, Cruyff, ******* Platini, maybe even Figo, Rivaldo, and Raul, who you can make a case for. Individual accolades do not make a player, and as good as Messi and CRonaldo are, they haven't accomplished what most of the guys I mentioned have and play in a much different era of football, one I'm personally not too fond of. I do think that if Messi could continue to show his greatness for Argentina and win at least one cup, he'll easily get in my book of one of the greatest players, but not yet. . .

I never defended Duhon, let alone "hard", all I did was point out the over exaggerations from some posters who would go as far as saying Duhon was the worst defender in the league, and etc. And what part of what I said wasn't true? You said it's "arguable" that some of those below average coaches are better than Stan, yet you posed no arguments, unless playing Duhon was your argument, which in that case I replied that it's a FACT that Stan wouldn't play Duhon if he coached those other teams. What's your argument then?

Dwight has made it so hard to root for this team. I don't care how good he is, dude's a douche and I'm behind Stan 100%. This entire year has been full of shady ass "business" decisions and I'm glad Stan was the one guy to always work hard and be honest. He deserves much better than this.
