https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/n3ve78/mock_draft_monday_game_thread_index/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 They do these every Monday on R/NBA. My favorite so far.

We are identical in win loss record last 10 games 3-7. Someone posted the the injury reports for both teams, tons of guys out. It's probably a coin flip.
-
Oh we are tanking. It's just OKC started over a month ago and up until recently all the other teams had played their vets, Houston,Detroit etc had a few games where they played all the guys healthy. I was checking line-ups. Now with two weeks left we are all doing it. So i guess *****ing about OKC is unproductive but what else we gonna do? Talk about Cole's press conference!!!! Thanks Denver!!
-
A lot of other forums talking about this since that blowout. Other fans are saying it's because the league only cares about players resting on national TV games. Legit injuries, no problem. Tickets sales, no problem at least this year. OKC only had one national game and that was before Shai was injured. The other thing is the players union has a ton of power and protecting veteran players from injury is big. Notice there was no league intervention of vets not playing before the trade line. Drummond, Griffin etc. I think the biggest reason it's viewed as ok to rest vets who cost a ton of money on bad teams to prevent injury. However, OKC has been resting rookies and second year players and starting 10 day and two way players over them. Anyhow this is what iv'e read not my opinions.

I didn't even realize the Knicks released him. I watched a ton of games the season they went to the title game. I was dating a women who was an alum. I remember liking Moe and thinking neither were going to make it in the NBA. I guess i'm going to have to watch the replay of last nights game. Didn't get to see anything but the highlights. Ultimately a guy who is 6-11 250 pounds is a center. I have to watch the game to see how he scored. To get serious minutes in the front court in the NBA you have to get rebounds, box out,set screens and protect the paint. If you can't do those things you won't get minutes and i'm guessing that's why he's already with his 5th team. Quick Edit. I'm so happy Cole had a great game, he is part of the future. What a weird game for Wagner to have his career day.

It's even worse when you consider the Pacers started Sumner,Brissett and McDermott. Sure, Sabonis and lavert went off but the Pacers have been struggling the last two months. Meanwhile OKC is pretending Dort and Poku are hurt, they weren't even available like Shai and Horford. I do not recognize anyone on the bench except SVI,Bradley and Jerome. Jerome got a healthy DNP because he shot well in their win the other night. They started all the guys with the least amount of experience. In fact i don't think i understand how NBA rosters work. Remember at the start of our season when the injuries piled up? We were in trouble filling roster spots, meanwhile OKC been bringing people on and off the team like it's chessboard not a basketball court. I mean i understand the difference they had less guaranteed contracts and weren't up against the salary cap like we were. Something has to give because after the blowout loss they even talked about the blatant tanking on the news shows. Screw OKC! Congrats on a good win. That's a win you have to love, Cole looking smooth and his interview was money!

Oh i feel yah man. That will be me if say we get like 5 and 9 and they take two more combo forwards. You know the usual, not big enough to dominate in the paint, not fast enough to chase wings around screens.
-
Great posts. It's too early too see where we are actually going. So many things are going to happen before next season. Since the season will end long before the lottery, Cliff will get the most press. I suspect they will resolve that quickly, is he in or out? My guess is he's out.
-
Yeah, i think they wanted to start trading these guys earlier, it's just circumstance. Clifford gave them an identity. Isaac and Bamba were injury prone right from the beginning. Evan was our leading scorer at one point. I'm guessing if Ross was just a little more consistent and Isaac and Bamba came in raw but completely healthy, the rebuild would have been two years ago. I could have seen them trading Evan,Gordon and letting Vucevic walk. That year everyone was healthy and Vucevic and DJ had career years just delayed it.
-
I hope they don't get caught up on rankings. Take the player your scouting says is good. Like if we drop to 7 and all the mocks have forwards like Scottie or Jalen, but your scouts see Moody,Bouknight,Springer as good scorers take one!! Teams get caught up with size too much these days. Take the guys who can play and score. If your team needs a little size there is always free agency. No more physical freaks who can't play. And don't worry about mocks.

If anyone listens to our local sports radio station,96.9,Marc Daniels made a great point yesterday. He was talking about the Suns. Obviously he mentioned how they traded for CP3 and they might end up with the best record this year. But he went back to how they were a bad team who drafted poorly except they finally hit on some picks. Four of them he mentioned. Ayton,Booker,Bridges and Johnson. He loved pointing out that the most important "hit" was also the lowest in the lottery, that was Booker at 13. I think his point is that wherever you are in the lottery you have to take a good player, that's it. Now Booker was a steal at 13 but the other 3 guys can play. Ayton is second in win shares from that draft right now to Luka. Is he a star? No, far from it but he does what they drafted him to do. Bridges and Johnson are still on rookie deals which allowed them to fit CP3. They also moved on from Bender and Josh Jackson when they realized they were mistakes.

Oh yeah, if Murray wasn't injured i think the Nuggets would have been pushed by the media as a top 3 story line in the playoffs. It just hits too close to home with his injury. Hurts too much. Imagine the Magic with Porter, Fultz,Gordon and Vucevic. Soooo close to happening. Hurts too much. Imagine a world without injuries and stupidity and We have Isaac and Ross coming off the bench on this imaginary team. I don't even give a **** if Evan is still the starting SG but since it's fake we traded him for Bullock or anyone else that was cheaper and played defense.
-
Oh i was all set to go all in on the Nuggets. The injuries are too depressing. The Nuggets run in the bubble last year was awesome. I still will watch those playoff games, hope then can get Morris and Barton back.
-
Ugh i decided to watch the Injury video. Poor guy, like others have said that's tough to come back from. God speed Cannady. https://www.theringer.com/nba/2021/4/26/22403238/nba-power-rankings-clippers-nets-jazz Rankings around the media are appearing with us dead last. Time to start talking about the playoff teams. It's less depressing. Anyone have alternate team? I used to be a big Suns fan and i guess i can finally root for them in the playoffs. Also i can't root for the Heat but i really want to see Dipo play a few games healthy.

Oladipo vs Gary Harris Here is a side by side comparison of the two players career. Pay attention to the per 36 and per 100 because they both missed a ton of time the last 3 years. No doubt Victor is the better player, however the numbers show Harris is the better shooter. I feel bad for Oladipo because his 17-18 season was a monster, including improving his numbers in the post season. Same with Harris, he has two very good shooting seasons. However with both players it seems like those good seasons are the outlier. Harris is 2 years younger, he is a different player, he's a shooter who can't shoot. Oladipo relies on his athleticism. He gets to the line, gets more rebounds, assists, steals and takes way more shots. If he is healthy he is worth the money, i hope he can play in the playoffs this year. I really want to see what the heat can do.

That's great for the Magic's budget , lets hope it doesn't matter. So many injuries the last two years for every team. I feel confident he will come back healthy. Anyhow, i'm very impressed by the Knicks win streak, 9 games. I finally got to watch them a bit today. Very good defense, but not what i expected. The game today they just didn't miss much. They had a bunch of open shots though. Fun fact i checked the box-score after the game. Elfrid was the only Knick with with a negative plus/minus and he played less minutes then Rose and Quickly. Birch started on Toronto and he was the only Raptor with a positive plus minus. So many ex-Magic players to watch. We had such a weird collection of talent the last 8 years. If only Gordon had taken that next step like Randle. And we weren't so inconsistent at the 3 ball. Have to fix that on our future team.

https://nbadraftroom.com/p/2021-nba-mock-draft/ This site is an easy quick look and up to date. Have no idea of their scouting, just gives you an idea of what each player is at the most basic level. I wouldn't mind Moody with the second pick, even if we get Green. I'm tired of forwards. Lets get some scoring wings. Cade,Green,Suggs but only if we miss out on the first two. Then Moody, Giddey if we drafted Green or Suggs, Mitchell if we were lucky enough to get Cade already.

Denver won in double overtime. Jokic willed them to another win. The very definition of a super-star and he was drafted in the second round. Gordon scored 2 points in 22 minutes. I saw a couple good posts on another fan site. Someone said about 55% off all All-Star appearing players were drafted 1-5. However this was skewed by older statistics from past decades. Another poster in the same thread compared All-NBA lists just from the last 18 years and the places players were drafted was all over the place. The 1-5 guys were less then 50% of all NBA lists in that short span but i thought that was interesting. I definitely want to number one pick if possible but i feel like there is good talent all over the draft just have to get the right guys. It's just so hard to evaluate today's prospects. This is good and bad. It's one of the reason some of these really great players are drafted lower.
-
This a great post, something is really wrong with the NBA. In theory, they did fix the lottery, the odds do not support long term losing. However so many teams are still really bad or trying to lose like OKC. Even in 2016,2017 the Magic were playing hard every night, we all saw the games. I want to apologize for any personal attacks in my previous posts. This season has just really made me dislike the sport at the moment. Not even watching the games, but i still have hope for the team and the NBA. I'll check in again around the playoffs. Go Magic.
-
Your projecting absurdities. The organization's that are tanking this season made a choice or were not given a choice. Stop arguing for the sake of being divisive. The Magic, our team...our organization gain nothing this 20 games from winning. Now, if one of our players blossoms into a superstar....so be it. Also, stop being an ass.
-
It's not luck. Look at Detroit. They know they have drafted the best they could, they need a star and still brought in Grant on a reasonable deal. All three of the guys they drafted have upside. They let Griffin go at an unbearable cost to both play for the future and get a better draft pick. How about the Thunder? Losing now but losing now but will absolutely go out and get whatever it takes to win, once they tank this year. Lightyears ahead.
-
I simply don't know enough about him. Like I said. He is a traditional center. 270 pounds...moves well. Not a stretch 5, possibly a 20-10 guy who pissed off his previous franchise. I need to see more.
-
Yup give me the center who plays d and has decent size and athleticism. Now i'm not sure it's WCJ because he wore out the guys in Chicago but he looks decent in Orlando. He has the bulk, and seems to move well. His shooting numbers are trending up, but you know what, i want a defensive center. Give me a guy who can average 14 points and 10 rebounds for 10 million a year. A guy who plays decent defense every night and doesn't cost much. Remember how we all thought Vucevic was worth the money back when he made 12 million and he sucked on defense. He's come a long way since those days. I really want Bamba to get it but at this point it's gonna be hard to pay him anything more then the minimum until he breaks out. A guy like WCJ is much more then likely to be worth extending as long as it's cheap.
