The Ryan Anderbads 27 Report post Posted December 18, 2007 Another tough game, should be close, but another entertaning game I'm sure. Yao v Howard, I'll give Howard the upper hand in this one. I'll stay positive and say Magic 96-91.
ThisIsTheYear 241 Report post Posted December 18, 2007 Folks, believe me when I say this, we will win the next two games against the Rockets and the Jazz. Mark this quote down, because it's a foreshadowing our next couple.

Mark this quote down, because it's a foreshadowing our next couple. Hey, Year boy, I wouldn't count the cards just yet. We were swept by the Rockets last year but the Jazz game should be guaranteed but no game is safe...not with the mindset that the Magic have right now. Daddy_Yankee 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2007 WoW O-Dub nice spirit... you are nor my friend anymore!!! IF Rashard it's back from his inteligent shooting and Jammer looks more to run the show instead of setting a whole chess play we pull this one..I dont know if it's just me but i am seeing more passing from Hedo... that's good news.. Skywise316 211 Report post Posted December 19, 2007 1. I just don't see how guys like Yao Ming or Chuck Hayes can do a thing with Dwight inside. This should be even more D12 domination than usual... either that or a lot of illegal 3 second defensive calls on Houston! 2. When is Carlos coming back already?? We need a point guard that'll pass out there. Badly. I'd say this game is a 50-50 deal because T-Mac may be even more banged up than Rashard is. I don't have much faith in us beating Boston, not with us playing defense this way. But Utah's been struggling so I agree with O-Dub, that should be a get for Orlando.. we couldn't be facing them at a better time. Plus, we seemed to have their number last season. So basically this Houston game makes or breaks our road trip. No pressure!
jack daniel 999 27 Report post Posted December 19, 2007 NBA Preview - Magic-Rockets Preview By KATE HEDLIN, STATS Writer Posted Dec 18 2007 6:21PM The Orlando Magic have been frustrated by their poor defensive effort recently. A matchup against the struggling offense of the Houston Rockets on Wednesday could provide some relief. Orlando (17-9) has lost two straight and five of its last six, including a 111-108 defeat at Dallas on Monday. It was the fourth time during the current slump that Orlando has allowed an opponent to score at least 100 points. The Magic shot 52.4 percent from the field and never let the Mavericks' lead get bigger than 11, but they couldn't stop Dirk Nowitzki, who finished with 31 points. "Dirk's a great player," coach Stan Van Gundy said, "but everybody can score on us." Orlando, which lost 123-119 at home to Memphis on Saturday, is allowing 99.4 points per game this season - 107.3 in the last seven contests. "People have just been able to kind of get what they want on us and that's kind of our reputation," guard Keyon Dooling said. "We've got to kind of change our mentality. Obviously we've got good offensive players, but we've got to become a better defensive team." While its defense has struggled, Orlando's offense continues to perform well. The Magic have averaged 105.0 points the last seven games and have shot above 50 percent the last three. Hedo Turkoglu had 26 points Monday while Dwight Howard added 22 points and 13 rebounds. Turkoglu, who is second on the team in scoring at 19.0 points, has averaged 24.0 the last three games. He was 10-of-14 from the field Monday. Orlando's defense may have a better chance at containing its next opponent given Houston's recent offensive struggles. The Rockets (12-12) have dropped three of their last four and five of eight, including a 96-83 loss to Dallas on Saturday. Houston has been held to fewer than 90 points in each of its last four games. Yao Ming had 28 points and 14 rebounds on Saturday while Tracy McGrady added 12 points. Shane Battier was the only other player to score in double figures with 11. Dallas scored 21 points off 19 Houston turnovers. "It seems like I say this all the time, but we couldn't make a shot," coach Rick Adelman said. "We missed layups and the only one who was consistent all night long was Yao. ... We just have to find a way to get more people involved and I don't know how we're going to be successful if we can't do that." The Rockets could be in for even more offensive troubles in this game if a sore knee hinders McGrady like it did Saturday. Houston's leading scorer bruised his left knee on a drive in the first quarter and finished just 5-of-18 from the field. McGrady, who came out in the second half with a black wrap around his knee, said he's had soreness in the knee for about two weeks. "I don't know the logical terms of it," said McGrady, who averaged 28.1 points in four seasons with Orlando before being traded to Houston on June 29, 2004. "It has something to do with my kneecap being out of line. Tonight I banged it and it's just one of those things." Houston has won three straight and nine of 10 against Orlando. jack daniel 999 27 Report post Posted December 19, 2007 Rockets' McGrady praises Howard's impressive play for Orlando Magic Former Orlando standout thinks about the trade made in 2004 BY JOHN DENTON FLORIDA TODAY HOUSTON - There are times when Tracy McGrady is back in his native Central Florida or when he catches the highlights of Orlando Magic man-child Dwight Howard and he thinks about what could have been. "Oh yeah, I think about that a lot," McGrady admitted Tuesday. "And when I'm with my (Orlando-based) trainer (Wayne Hall), we talk all the time about how good me and Dwight could have been together." So could McGrady, a native of Auburndale in Polk County, ever envision a day where his dream of playing alongside of Howard is fulfilled? His contract with the Rockets expires after the 2010 season -- about the time the 22-year-old Howard will be hitting his prime. "I've thought about it," McGrady said whimsically, "You never know." http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/...12190344/1002/SPORTS
Marc Acres 3:16 418 Report post Posted December 19, 2007 They mentioned something similar in Schmitz's column also. Pretty interesting that Tracy feels like he doesn't have enough help in Houston now. What is enough help for him? 2009-10 huh? Just in time for the new building. Mayhem 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2007 I think this game will hinder on how T-Mac is feeling. Since our defense has been non-existent, he should get his shots off. But if his knee continues to bother him, maybe he'll put up a 5-18 from the floor like he did vs. Dallas. I'm gonna stay positive although I'm worried about this game. T-Mac enjoys going off for 30+ against our guys every season. Magic 97 Rockets
