You're Fat, Pat! 98 Report post Posted December 24, 2007 ESPN.com (Stein)- #10: "Rashard is ailing, Stan is calling his team ''soft'' and the magic (they can only hope) is still hiding. We repeat: Can't crow about the Magic's road exploits -- even at 13-5 -- when they're 0-4 at home in December." NBA.com- #11: "Here's the story: In their first 20 games, the Magic had a defensive rating of 102.2 and went 16-4. In their last nine, they have a defensive rating of 112.5 and have gone 2-7." SI.com (Burns)- #11: "The Christmas break can't come soon enough for Dwight Howard & Co. as they've lost seven of their last nine. But with the Knicks, Heat, Bobcats and Bulls up next on the slate, they have a good chance to get back on track heading into the New Year."

I think Dwight needs to find some KG like intensity on the court. Maybe Stan should take away his video games until he finds the fire...
Live or Die Magic 383 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 It is coming...it has already gotten better this year. He won't ever be "nasty" but I think he is on his way to a greater intensity.
Live or Die Magic 383 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 I'm not sure if anyone still has the heart to check ESPN's Power Rankings ever since our slide, but if so, here you go: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/powerranking We are now 11th.
Live or Die Magic 383 Report post Posted January 22, 2008 We've now dropped down to 14th. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/powerranking?lpos=spotlight&lid=tab2pos1 I have to wonder what our position would be after that home win over Detroit. Incidently, we have only 3 victories over teams with winning records since the 16-4 start.

Live or Die Magic 383 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 Despite a week in which we didn't lose, we only moved up one spot in Stein's NBA Power Rankings. We are 11th. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/powerranking We stayed at #9 in Hollinger's rankings: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/powerranking
SmackDaddy 30 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 Funny. We have a better record than 5 other teams sitting ahead of us in Stein's rankings and we just beat the Pistons, Celtics & Blazers. Unbelievable.
Jareth Cutestory 678 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 IMO, our position on every sites "Power Rankings" has to do with the fact that we had that "collapse" after our hot start. We won't get any real love until we keep this current hot streak alive. Most of the experts just think we are going to crumble like we did last year. I mean, come on. Lakers number 5? Didn't they just got .500 in their last 10? Don't tell me them getting Gasol doesn't have anything to do with that...
