SOME STREAMING OPTIONS;

quote:

With the recent availability of apps such as TVUPlayer (link) and Sopcast (link) and their ability to broadcast TV channels over the internet at what are usually watchable quality levels, the availability of NBA games and, more specifically, Magic games has increased.

In an effort move all such streaming TV-related discussion into a single thread, I've created this thread. Hopefully this can help keep people informed of where and when to catch their NBA games online and also cut down on the large number of threads created to discuss these viewing options.

Please note that you generally need a highspeed connection to access these feeds. Also note that channels on TVUPlayer and Sopcast can regularly appear and disappear at the discretion of the kind individuals hosting them.

TVUPlayer

Relevant channels:

On Sopcast you are more likely to find feeds related to specific events (i.e. games). You will often find games that are broadcast on FSN being shown through this app.

Check this link out when there are Magic games. Chances are, its available for viewing. Coz of hedo Turkoglu.

News

Brian Schmitz Blog:

What's Up With Grant Hill?

Grant Hill did not practice Tuesday, but Magic Coach Brian Hill says Hill was just given a day off and will play Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors.

Hill, however, has not looked like himself the last couple of games.

He has not hit double-digits in scoring in two of the last five games, and had just two points in the club's big win in Miami on Sunday.

Hill has not been been healthy at this point of a playoff chase since he signed with the Magic in 2000.

If the club can give him a rest, fine.

But now's the time the Magic need Hill -- his experience and his scoring.

By MATT BECKER, STATS Writer

All-Star Chris Bosh and rookie teammate Andrea Bargnani both had career games against the Orlando Magic this season.

That could bode well for a Toronto Raptors team looking to bounce back from their worst offensive game of the season in a matchup with the Magic on Wednesday.

The Raptors (36-31) lost to New York 92-74 on Sunday, getting outscored 35-13 in the decisive third quarter. They finished with season lows in points, field-goal shooting (34.2 percent) and 3-point shooting (2-of-21), after averaging 105.8 points over their previous six games while hitting 51.0 percent from the field.

"We haven't had too many games where we just got it handed to us like it did today," Bosh said. "We just can't get too caught up in this, because if we do I think it will carry over to other games and we don't want to do that."

Bosh led Toronto with 21 points, but failed to record an assist for the second straight game. The Raptors are 2-7 when that happens.

Bargnani, the first overall pick in last year's draft, is averaging 16.6 points in his last five games despite being held to seven on Sunday while committing five of the team's 19 turnovers.

The Raptors are in first place in the Atlantic Division, but have lost their last two games following a four-game winning streak. They will try to get back on track against the Magic (31-37), who already have brought out the best in Toronto's two young stars.

Bosh scored a career-high 41 points, including a 15-of-17 effort at the free-throw line, in the Raptors' 113-103 win in Orlando on Feb. 7. Bargnani had a career-best 23 points in Toronto's 91-84 victory over the Magic on Dec. 13.

Orlando All-Star Dwight Howard had a career-high 32 points on 13-of-14 shooting against Toronto in February after being held to 17 points in the first meeting.

The Raptors have won the last three meetings overall with the Magic and five in a row at home.

As Bosh and Bargnani try to lead the Raptors to the first division title in their 12-year history, Orlando is battling for one of the Eastern Conference's final two playoff berths.

While Toronto had one of its worst games of the season on Sunday, the Magic played one of their most inspiring.

Orlando ended Miami's nine-game winning streak with a 97-83 road victory. It was just the fourth win in 15 games for the Magic, who also ended the Heat's home win streak at 14 games.

"This was a great win," said Hedo Turkoglu, who scored a team-high 20 points. "Hopefully it will give us confidence so that we can learn from it and move ahead."

The Magic now look to win consecutive games for the first time since Jan. 31 and Feb. 2.

They snapped a five-game road losing streak Sunday and notched just their fourth win in their last 21 games away from home. Orlando has not won consecutive road games since winning a season-high four in a row Nov. 24-Dec. 1.

The Raptors, meanwhile, have won 12 of their last 15 games at Air Canada Centre.

Team Comparison

Team Record Standings PF PA Road/Home Streak L10

Orlando 31-37 3rd Southeast / 9th East 93.9 94.4 Road 11-23 Won 1 3-7

Toronto 36-31 1st Atlantic / 4th East 98.9 98.8 Home 23-10 Lost 2 5-5

Orlando Notes

Mar 18 The Magic have lost five straight on the road, just one shy of the season-high. ... C Dwight Howard recorded his fourth double-double in the last five games and has 46 double-doubles on the season. ... F Hedo Turkoglu scored 23 points, nearly double his season average of 12.3. He had scored 12 points combined in his last two games. ... Orlando has lost 22 of 29 games .. The Magic are 1-5 all-time against the Bobcats in Charlotte.

Toronto Notes

Mar 18 Toronto played its ninth and final Sunday afternoon game at New York. The Raptors had won five of their first eight Sunday afternoon games - all at home. But in their first noon start on the road, they set a season low for points and 3-pointers in a 92-74 loss. When asked about getting players ready for early starts before the game, coach Sam Mitchell said, "Hope they wake up. Nothing you can do. It's amazing. We can practice at 10, 11 o'clock in the morning, but playing at 12 o'clock, 1 o'clock seems like it's just tougher. ... G Anthony Parker went through a light workout Saturday and returned from a sprained right ankle. Parker missed Friday's game after playing over 33 minutes in the previous three. Those three games were the only appearances for Parker, who had missed the previous six with the same injury. ... While Parker returned, G Jose Calderon missed his second straight game with a sprained left ankle that. Calderon suffered the injury Wednesday vs. New York. ... Before Sunday, the Raptors had shot 51 percent (236-of-463) in the previous six games.
