TreyMachine 398 Report post Posted April 21, 2014 I agree. Though I don't want young if we get Parker. Porous defense with those two. I'm all for BPA, but don't we already have an overload of young SF's with Harkless and Harris (Harris is a better SF than PF IMO)? Getting two more seems unnatural when we have needs at both PF/C and PG.
CTMagicUK 1,488 Report post Posted April 21, 2014 Honestly if we go SF at 12 I'd go Young before Hood and I'm a Duke fan. Hood's defense is pretty boo boo James Young is just as bad defensively.
Catman 380 Report post Posted April 21, 2014 We have a serious need at shooting though. So if we draft Exum at #3, we will be very weak at shooting without grabbing a SF who can stroke 3s. This will be a really fun draft.

Getting two more seems unnatural when we have needs at both PF/C and PG. I agree with PF/PG being the biggest needs but I feel if we get Wiggins or Parker than one of the SF's we already have may be moved. I truly believe Exum or Smart will our first pick and then Payne will be our second pick at 12. If we don't stay at #12. I believe we trade Afflalo to move up and grab Vonleh. What's up with Saric, is he still entering the draft to actually play in the NBA?
MagicFanInNevada 51 Report post Posted April 21, 2014 James Young is just as bad defensively. Yeah but not as bad. James Young is 3-years younger and is arguably a better shooter than Hood already. Young's upside is scary good IMO. He reminds me of DeMarr Derozan so much Here's my list if players who I believe have the most upside: 1. Andrew Wiggins 2. Dante Exum 3. Aaron Gordon 4. James Young 5a. Clint Capela 5b. Zach Lavine
Ibn Battuta 127 Report post Posted April 21, 2014 What's up with Saric, is he still entering the draft to actually play in the NBA? He has declared for the draft, but he wants a lottery promise. And, he might stay in Europe anyway to develop.
TreyMachine 398 Report post Posted April 22, 2014 He has declared for the draft, but he wants a lottery promise. And, he might stay in Europe anyway to develop. He has a ton of upside, but no way in hell this team drafts him with a potential Fran Vasquez 2.0 scenario coming to fruition.

MagicFanInNevada 51 Report post Posted April 22, 2014 Embiid is not on your list of players with the most upside in this draft? Nope I don't like him much. Not impressed I don't see Andre Drummond or a Dwight Howard in this dude

Trey Time 186 Report post Posted April 22, 2014 Why? Not sure if I agree there or not. I think Hood could end up being a draft steal. McDermott could definitely fit here, but he would make more sense if we had a guy like Embiid behind him to make up for his defencies on D. Hood is a guy who can start at SF in the NBA and play major minutes imo - the jury is still out on McDermott there. He may just be a specialist. Tough call still, but he does fit a major need for the Magic. I don't want to be that dude, and I know you're def not that guy either, but bruh, this isn't even a discussion if McDermott was black.
