SOME STREAMING OPTIONS;

quote:

With the recent availability of apps such as TVUPlayer (link) and Sopcast (link) and their ability to broadcast TV channels over the internet at what are usually watchable quality levels, the availability of NBA games and, more specifically, Magic games has increased.

In an effort move all such streaming TV-related discussion into a single thread, I've created this thread. Hopefully this can help keep people informed of where and when to catch their NBA games online and also cut down on the large number of threads created to discuss these viewing options.

Please note that you generally need a highspeed connection to access these feeds. Also note that channels on TVUPlayer and Sopcast can regularly appear and disappear at the discretion of the kind individuals hosting them.

TVUPlayer

Relevant channels:

RaptorsTV (sometimes)

MSG (sometimes)

NBATV

ESPN1 and ESPN2

Sopcast

On Sopcast you are more likely to find feeds related to specific events (i.e. games). You will often find games that are broadcast on FSN being shown through this app.

Check this link out when there are Magic games. Chances are, its available for viewing. Coz of hedo Turkoglu.

With the way the Heat have been playing I am shuddering. You have no idea what its like this season to be an upfront Magic Fan amongst the Heat fanatics.

This just in....We lost the Heat game because of Carlos Arroyo who incredible did not played one minute!!! This is not bad news at all because according to recent reports the orlando deal for the new Arena, the Citrus Bowl renovation and the new performing arts center is also in jeopardy because of Carlos. Even in the Amway Corporation sales have declined!! If it rains tomorrow in Orlando you know who to blame. Exactly!!

By ANTHONY GIORNALISTA, STATS Senior Writer

All the victories the Miami Heat have been accumulating lately are starting to pay off in the standings.

The Heat look to match their longest winning streak from last season and move into a tie for first place in the Southeast Division when they host the Orlando Magic on Sunday.

Miami (36-2) extended its longest winning streak of the season to nine games Friday night with a 103-97 victory over Sacramento.

A 10th straight win would put the Heat in a tie with Washington in the Southeast Division and match their longest winning streak from last season's NBA title run, set from Feb. 12-March 8, 2006.

The Heat have also won 14 straight at American Airlines Arena since a 99-93 loss to New York on Feb. 26. It's their longest streak at home since winning 18 in a row there from Jan. 23-April 5, 2005.

Miami is now 10-2 since Dwyane Wade went down with a shoulder injury, thanks to strong play from a variety of different players.

Veteran guard Eddie Jones hit his first five 3-point attempts Friday and finished with 19 points. He's averaged 16.1 points on 53 percent shooting in his last seven games, hitting double digits in all but one of those contests.

"Guys are contributing all over the place," Jones said. "That's team basketball right there. And we're playing team basketball probably better than anybody right now."

Shaquille O'Neal scored 23 points against the Kings, while Jason Williams finished with 19. Since acquiring O'Neal before the 2004-05 season, Miami is 40-1 at home in February and March.

"How quickly people forget the type of players we've got in this locker room," Heat forward Udonis Haslem said. "We've got guys who've made All-Stars, who've made a lot of money and had great careers in this league and can still make plays. ... And this is the situation they're used to being in."

O'Neal is averaging 27.5 points, 13.5 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in 18 career games against Orlando, where he played his first four NBA seasons. He has missed both meetings this season, though, both of which the Heat lost.

After losing 95-83 at home to Sacramento on Saturday night, Orlando returns to the road, where it has lost five straight and 15 of 17.

The Magic (30-37) are one-half game behind New Jersey for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Jameer Nelson led the Magic with 23 points Saturday, but the rest of the starting five combined for only 17 points. Dwight Howard had 12 rebounds, but scored only six points on 2-of-10 shooting.

Orlando was outscored 17-2 to end the third quarter, and 6-1 to start the fourth to fall behind 73-65.

"We've been doing that all season," Magic guard Grant Hill said. "We played good for a quarter or good for a half or maybe good for three quarters, but we can't keep it going for a whole game."

In a 97-68 Magic win over Miami on Dec. 30, the Heat shot a season-worst 34.3 percent from the field and were held to their second-lowest point total of the season

Team Comparison

Team Record Standings PF PA Road/Home Streak L10

Orlando 30-37 3rd Southeast / 9th East 93.9 94.6 Road 10-23 Lost 1 3-7

Miami 36-29 2nd Southeast / 6th East 96.3 96.6 Home 23-10 Won 9 9-1

Orlando Notes

Mar 18 The Magic have lost five straight on the road, just one shy of the season-high. ... C Dwight Howard recorded his fourth double-double in the last five games and has 46 double-doubles on the season. ... F Hedo Turkoglu scored 23 points, nearly double his season average of 12.3. He had scored 12 points combined in his last two games. ... Orlando has lost 22 of 29 games .. The Magic are 1-5 all-time against the Bobcats in Charlotte.

Miami Notes

Mar 16 Miami's eight-game winning streak is the longest in the NBA after San Antonio had it's 13-game run snapped on Thursday. ... The Heat improved to 10-8 without G Dwyane Wade this season and 25-26 without him since the start of his rookie season. ... C Alonzo Mourning scored 11 points and is 23 shy from becoming the franchise leader. Mourning has 9,225 career points with the Heat, trailing only Glen Rice's 9,248. ... F Jason Kapono missed his fifth straight game with a sprained left ankle. ... C Shaquille O'Neal missed his first seven free throws before making the second of two at 5:50 of the third quarter. He shot 5-of-14 from the free-throw line. ... O'Neal was asked if he had a name for the nimble reverse layup he made late in the third quarter. "Dipsy doo doo," said O'Neal, who added that he has been working on the shot.

Scouting Report...Tim Povtak...Orlando Sentinel

WHERE: AmericanAirlines Arena

RECORDS: Magic 30-37, Heat 36-29

BROADCAST: TV -- Sun Sports; Radio -- 580 AM (WDBO); Spanish-language 1030 AM (WONQ).

MAGIC UPDATE: They played the Kings in Orlando on Saturday night. . . . They have beaten the Heat twice this season, but both times the Heat didn't have Shaquille O'Neal available. Last time in Miami, Grant Hill scored a team-high 24 points, while Dwight Howard had 23 points and 12 rebounds. The Magic are in a battle to earn one of the last two playoff spots in the Eastern Conference.

HEAT UPDATE: They have won 14 consecutive games at home, rolling now even without Dwyane Wade, who is out because of a shoulder injury. They have won nine consecutive games, the longest current winning streak in the league. . . . Eddie Jones, who was signed Feb. 1 as a free agent after negotiating a buyout from the Memphis Grizzlies, has played well in Wade's absence. O'Neal has been the centerpiece of their second-half turnaround. The Heat have their eyes on the Southeast Division championship, which would guarantee them home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Dwight Howard vs. Shaquille O'Neal is the featured matchup, pitting a past Magic center against the current one. The key will be Howard's ability to defend O'Neal without double-team help, which will allow his teammates to keep the rest of the Heat under control.
