2018 Watch the Playoffs thread

I am not surprised that 76ers choked, being a young team and having no playoff experience really hurts the 76ers, Celtics are going to sweep them, great game!

Who said the Warriors are better without Curry? Of course Curry's scoring is needed, but the timing in which they brought him back is the key. The Warriors should have been up by 3-0. They were not ready for Curry's return for game 2. So,  in game 3, the Pelican's coach saw something they felt they could exploit. No longer were the Warriors passing the ball around looking for the open man, and for some reason, the lane was not opening up for the Warriors to make easy lay ups. There were more 3 pt. attempts being jacked up and missed (game 3).

The Warriors played small ball too long in game 3. Draymon Green is a good defender, but the Pelicans used 2 twin towers--Davis and whats the other guy's name?--who were very effective scoring more than 15 feet from the basket. Both teams had been pushing the ball up the floor, the Warriors went away from that in game 3 playing 'slow the ball down'. I don' think Curry was ready for the up tempo and he was not driving the lane for lay ups the way he use to before the injury.

I love myself some Curry, but he is not a good passer and turns the ball over too much as he did in game 3, which allowed the Pelicans to take it to the basket for an easy score. I don't care who the player is--whether it's Durant, LeBron, Kobe. You don't bring that player back when your team is on a roll, winning consistently.

1. You implied that the Warriors were better without Curry in your previous post.

2. Steph Curry is one of the best passers in the NBA. You can argue he gets careless trying to make highlight plays when they get a lead, but that’s about it.

3. The Pels start Miritic at the 4, who is a stretch 4, nowhere near a twin tower

I knew Lebron would hit the game winner and somewhere Mr.Weltman is smiling that Craptors is a game away from elimination so Weltman can interview Nurse and hire him

LeBron has been unbelievable. One of the few criticisms I had of him was when he passed the ball to Kyle Korver in a do or die situation against Golden State. He's the captain of the ship, the team has to go as he goes and I'm glad he's taking more control and becoming more and more clutch.

What a run he's had in these playoffs. Tremendous talent

That's not really a negative thing though.

Clutch is a fake thing where we build off a narrative. Kobe, for example, was statistically one of the least clutch players out of the high volume clutch players of the last 20 years but his legend is some guy who can always get you a late bucket. https://www.libertyballers.com/2012/2/29/2832299/lebron-james-kobe-bryant-dwyane-wade-clutch-nba-playoffs-4th-quarter

I remember that Korver play and even thought it could have been the right basketball play. My argument is more on the philosophical side. LeBron is the guy. He's the leader of the team and he's the most important person on the Cavaliers organization. I think that if the game was tied he could have passed, but being down a few points, he's the guy who imagines himself hitting the big shot over and over again. Korver is a role player and might not have the same mental disposition. I think it was too big of a moment to have anyone else decide it and some talking heads agree with me, but I can see the other side of the argument as well.

For some reason I was arguing about this with some other guy and he got real emotional about it
