2016-2017 Season Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Phil is winning, Minnesota is also winning and even Phoenix is ahead at the moment. Not a bad day for us if this keep up.

Philly won, Minny won, Phoenix lost. Only ones I worry about bumping us are Philly and the Knicks. If we play smart and tank we have 4th place locked up. I say we give Mario, Wilcox, Augustine, Rudez, and Zimmerman 35-40 minutes burn time every game until the end of the season.

Some prediction guru at Real GM has us getting the 1st pick and trading Payton, Fournier, Meeks, and our lottery protected 2018 for

Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried, and Troy Daniels, plus 2018 Memphis Grizzlies Second Round Draft Pickand 2019 Brooklyn Nets Second Round Draft Pick

And signing Michael Beasley and Trey Burke each to 1 year deals

Orlando Magic

Nikola Vucevic

Bismack Biyombo

Stephen Zimmerman

Aaron Gordon

Kenneth Faried

Bonzie Colson=pick

Wilson Chandle

Justin Jackson=pick

Terrance Ross

Mario Hezonja

Troy Daniels

D.J. Augustin

Markelle Fultz=pick

Michael Beasley

Trey Burke<

D-League: Sindarius Thornwell, Hamidou Diallo

All you have said here is mainly the GM fault. I agree that we are at the bottom of the league but how can you have the Nets and Lakers ahead of us.

The Nets!

The current Nets GM was hired less than a year ago. They haven't made earth shattering moves, but also haven't royally screwed up either. So yea it makes sense they are above us. Similar situation with the new Lakers GM Pelinka and President Magic Johnson.

The Bulls front office is a dumpster fire. They're dysfunctional and inept.

That "guru" is an idiot. For one Meeks contract is up at the end of the season, so can't trade him here. For another, predicting we get the #1 pick is unrealistic. Finally, all of those players traded to us don't really improve us much, if any.

Kenneth Faried is a PF who plays in the same area as Gordon, but who is a mediocre at best defender.

Wilson Chandler is a nice role player who is is at best slightly better than Fournier.

Troy Daniels is not good.

Seriously people.

@DavidBaumannORL

Tonight, Dario Saric became Rob Hennigan's best draft pick yet LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Baumann is pretty dumb.

Also, the greater basketball world is paying attention to the wrong Philly rookie because the greater basketball world cares more about raw numbers than actual impact.

since the all star break, Philly has an offensive rating of 102.7 and a defensive rating of 105.5

Since the all star break, Saric has an offensive rating of 100.4 and a defensive rating of 106.1. When he's on the bench, philly has an offensive rating of 107.3 and a defensive rating of 104.1. Meaning they score more points and allow less points when Saric isn't playing.

However it's extremely interesting to note that when Timothe Luwawu is on the court philly has an offensive rating of 107.5 and a defensive rating of 99.2. We'll have to examine the context of these numbers more but that's pretty amazing for a player who is playing as much as he is on a team that is as bad as it is. He might be someone to keep an eye on if Philly suddenly becomes inundated with wings after this draft.
