I really want to believe Payton has turned a corner. I would love to be wrong about him. But I've tried kicking that football too many times, and that ***** always pulls it away. I'm not doing it again.

I mean, he just turned 23 years old.. he's in his third season in the league under his fourth coach and he has 5 career triple doubles including 2 in a row. I'm hoping he finds consistency, but we can't expect it from him until we give it to him. Keep up the pace, keep the same coaching staff for more than a year and then we'll really see what he is or isn't.

I dont know what to think about this team any longer. The joke is on us.

No. Both Coach Skiles and Coach Vogel refused to play the style that accustomed our players. We saw flashes of it in the Vaughn and Borrego eras. For what it's worth, I believe this current group will have better chemistry long term even without Dipo and Harris. Hezonja will overtake Harris and (gulp) Fournier appears to be more alpha than Dipo long term. Fournier could thrive here with this uptempo offense. He certainly seems to want to take that role and has flashes of Klay Thompson. I know I'm stretching but ...

@OrlandoMagic

@elfrid joins Jason Kidd & LeBron James as only players with 2 triple-double streaks at 23 or younger (in last 30 yrs) per @EliasSports!

WOW. Thank goodness I haven't burned his jersey yet. I'm gonna find it underneath my son's dirty diaper bin. Hope it's ok.

How many jump shots did Payton hit last night?

None. Since the Ross trade and the new pace he's almost been shooting entirely from in the paint, but he's shooting 57% and averaging 13 points.

so we have Jason Kidd and now Klay Thompson in our team.

Style of play is the only real difference that is showing us success lately and that's frustrating because most of us knew that zigging while the rest of the league zagged by going big could backfire, especially when two of our up and coming young talents thrive in transition. I'm hoping we wind up picking somewhere between 5 - 7 at this point unless we strike gold in the lottery and pick either Tatum or Isaac, then we can sign a vet point guard (George Hill?). Not sure who we take with our second first, but a lineup of Payton/Ross/Isaac/Gordon/Vucevic with a bench of Hill/Fournier/Hezonja/?/Biyombo would be a pretty nice 10 man rotation. I like that both Isaac (once he gets in a weight room) and Tatum allow us to play pretty much two combo forwards so Aaron can guard the 3 and play the 4 on offense.

Anyone know what our record is without Vucevic over the past 2 seasons? I'm curious. It seems we win more games when he doesn't play.

if we ever end up with George Hill in our team rest assure he will be our starting PG. Payton will be coming from the bench.

Possibly. He's an expiring that used to play and thrive under Frank Vogel, so I think he's definitely a target for us.
