Isn't it interesting how much Frye has regressed this year? Is that on him? Vaughn???

I didn't mind his contract at all when he signed it. However, he shouldn't even see the floor with the way he's playing this year.

Our team as a "team" is a cluster bomb right now.

STOP POSTING SUCH LOGIC AND MAKING SENSE.

Seriously, wow. I am losing faith in this place. People make these absolute basketball statements that are complete ignorance.

Don't go to RealGM forums then -- its a haven for this kind of crap.

Who should see the floor then?

Crazy to think that these young players haven't learnt to play with each other in their first season together.

There should be some semblance of a plan and regular rotation. Without that, these pups will never learn to play together.

Harris is playing, Dipo is playing, Gordon is playing, Vuc is playing, Payton is playing. Is there anyone else that is even remotely irreplaceable? As long as those 5 guys are getting time that is all that matters. Everyone else on the team can be replaced. Heck some of those 5 may be replaceable as well if the right deal came along.

Vaughn is pretty terrible but lets not act as if our young guns arent getting ample time on the floor to learn to play the game.

Frye's contract might be a sub-MLE deal in 2 years.

I don't understand why people think that contract is so terrible.

It might be a sub-mle deal in two years? So, late in year 3 of a 4 year contract it might not be as heavy as it is today...are we also operating under the impression that he won't regress to the point of nearly being out of the league if not outright in 2 years?

Im not one of those screaming that its the worst contract ever, but to say it isn't bad borders on silly. Especially if the best response to it is what may happen by the time we are approaching the last year of said contract.

Late in year 3? You do know that the MLE is not calculated mid-season, right?

And given that Channing Frye is a 3pt specialist who's 3pt shooting has actually improved this year, then yes, I'm pretty confident he won't be out of the league in 2 years.

Plus, if he retires, we don't have to pay him, so I can't imagine a scenario, other than you just being really, really dense, where Channing Frye retiring should have you questioning the CAP implications of his then non-existent salary.

Except now, where you're implying it.

but to say it isn't bad borders on silly.

Which I didn't say.

It's more of what WILL happen, since we have publicly available CAP projections and, at least some of us, can do simple math.

Starting in the 2016 offseason, if not sooner, an average starter will be signing for between 10 and 12 million a season. That'll put the MLE between 8-10 million. This is pretty simple math.

At that point, a stretch 4 with a solid 3pt shot who can give you spot minutes at center will easily cost more than 7.5 million.

I never said anything about the young guys not getting ample time. Not sure where that is coming from.

My point is I'm not sure our guys are learning to play the game… together as team. Vaughn has yet to establish a clear plan or rotation.

Thinking about Harris, I think if he's moved it will be for a decent SF/PF or another player on a rookie deal.

Any of these guys make sense? Just throwing names out there.

Cody Zeller (Charlotte)

James Young (Boston)

Julius Randle (LAL)

Taj Gibson (Chicago)

Nerlens Noel (Philliy)

Otto Porter (Washington)

Terrence Jones (Houston)

Clint Capela (Houston)

Gorgui Dieng (Minnesota)

Nicolas Batum (Phoenix)

Like, dislike, others? Realistic, unrealistic, need to add some sauce?

Cody Zeller (Charlotte) Not good enough, might as well just start Aaron at PF

James Young (Boston) I like him more than a lot of people, but not good enough return for Harris

Julius Randle (LAL) Love him, but his injuries are very concerning

Taj Gibson (Chicago) Wouldn't mind that, even if he's almost 30

Nerlens Noel (Philliy) Wouldn't mind it, don't know if he can play next to Vuc

Otto Porter (Washington) MEH

Terrence Jones (Houston) Like him a lot, but too short to be a starter next to Vuc

Clint Capela (Houston) Hasn't done anything in the NBA, but so hadn't Harris

Gorgui Dieng (Minnesota) I like him, can he be a PF?

Nicolas Batum (Phoenix) Probably my favorite outcome, even if he's on a slump, that would force Aaron to move to PF

I think all those guys could be had, except for Dieng and Batum who I don't see being moved any time soon.

Hassan Whiteside from the Heat is on fire defensively, but he clogs the paint too much
