Look at how big Porzingis is - man :

It's hard for me to get why someone would hate the pick if we ended up getting him. Look at how well he moves. People compare him to stiffs, and I don't even think they know what a stiff is .

People who compare him to stiffs haven't seen him or don't know what a stiff is.

His issue is entirely based on physicality and body. He looks like a robot designed to play basketball.

Talking about pieces that fit together: If you select WCS and have him, Gordon and Payton on the floor at the same time, you have a team that simply can't score. I don't see how those pieces compliment each other.

I'm somehow starting to like him more than WCS LOL. Still want Winslow/Mario. But Idk if it's the uncanny love for WCS on this forum that's making me not like him or what, but at least Porz as a higher ceiling and can do more than 1 thing.

Who cares what other people think. Make your own mind on players and don;t apologize for it. WCS gets love because we need rim protection and it's not easy to find. He is also projected from 5-10 depending the mock and day of the week, so thats right in our range.

Porzingis could be an absolute stud. People comparing him to Euro busts are being lazy unless they show us guys who are 7 feet with this level of athleticism and work ethic. It's easy to say Jan Vesely except his numbers were terrible compared to Porzingis's.

I never saw Bargiani put in work like this guy and he was not as athletic either.

Still not sure what to expect from Porz but I do not believe he will be an epic bust based on the numbers. Worse case he becomes a Channing Frye bench 4 except better at rim protection and best case he dominates at the 4 position with his rare combo of height, athleticism and shooting. Crazy level of Risk/Reward there, but it would be exciting if Henny pulls the trigger.

I have bad news for you. There is no pick at 5 that will fix that problem year 1. Best option there would be Winslow most likely. He just has natural aptitude for getting the ball in the hole.

Maybe you can't fix the problem completely, and let's remember it's a problem the Magic have created for themselves, but at least having 3 guys on the floor who can shoot instead of two lessens the problem.

Did you read the details posted in Rob's interview? The Magic don't see it as a permanent problem with their current group of young players.

WCS

Porzingis

Turner

Portis

Give me any of these 4 and I'm happy.

You want Portis at 5?

And not Winslow?

Man, I don't even get that. Maybe you are assuming a trade down?

I know that's what they're publicly saying. I don't know if they completely believe it or not. But it's extremely unlikely Payton/Gordon/WCS improve their shooting enough by next season to be effective offensively from outside. And that means more 2 or 3 vs. 5.

I've seen too much of that already. It didn't work last season, and it won't work next season, regardless of what they say.

Im not talking about WCS at all, since he was not drafted by the Magic yet. I think you will be wrong about Payton and Gordon. They will improve their shooting each year like many other NBA players have.

If Rob feels he can add 15-20 pounds to Proz frame I'll take him. My biggest issue with him has always been how narrow his shoulders and not sure how easily he will be able to put on any kind of serious weight. What I don't want is a 7 footer that just sits on the perimeter.

I still think he has the highest bust potential but the kid is intriguing. If he has AG type work ethic than I'm more on board.

He can run off screens and score many ways so I'm not too worried there. He can easily be a stretch 4 on offense.

On D he would be matched up against stretch 4s mainly and his help D would be a nice fit next to Vuc. He can get his blocks on the help side.

He has a small frame so I don't know what he can add weight wise. I don't think 15 pounds is unrealistic though. He is still just 19.
