FIBA Basketball word cup 2014

Recommended Posts

I want to start a new topic regarding the FIBA world cup in SPAIN! August of 2014. 2 potential magic players playing. Of course, pending Draft and Trades prior tournament. Hopefully, we keep Maurice and Draft Exum.

1. Dante Exum, if we draft with our 4th pick..Interested to see how he perform against some of the best players in the world. Australia will be in group D. Surely, this is going a great challenge and great experience for him.

Host City: Gran Canaria

TEAM W/L P

1. Angola 0/0 0

2. Australia 0/0 0

3. Korea 0/0 0

4. Lithuania 0/0 0

5. Mexico 0/0 0

6. Slovenia 0/0 0

2. Maurice Harkless. This is the one I am more excited to see. He is going to be playing for the Puerto Rican national team. He is probably the most intriging player to see in the tournament. He will benefit tremendously from this experience and likely will gain a lot of maturity. He will definetely get plenty of minutes on a team that he most likely have to carry in order for them to advance. I expect to see him attack the basket and not much rely on 3 point shots. With plenty of Great international proven PG's like JJ Barea, Carlos Arroyo and now Shabazz Napier, I'm sure he will get plenty of looks in the paint. It will be interesting to see the addition of Napier and Maurice and how this complement veterans such as Ronaldo Balkman, JJ Barea, Ricky Sanchez and Carlos Arroyo.

This Puerto rican team will be the team to watch with Australia. Cant wait to see them playing. They will be playing in a tough Group B.

I'm really excited about Moe playing in this tournament and if we draft him Exum also. Another guy to look out for (early 2015 draft plug) is Karl Towns, he'll be playing for the Dominican Republic, skilled big man.

How great would it be if Exum also became good friends with Harkless during this tournament? This is destiny.

I truly hope we don't trade him. During the off season. I think this tournament will likely help him tremendously. He j's still young and raw. Plenty of room to improve.

There is not doubt in my mind that he will become a very good SF in the nba. The pairing of Exum, oladipo and Mo should be interesting to say the least.

Have some time up my hands so thought I would share the Australian Boomers FIBA team.

There has never been a time that Australia has had so many players playing in the NBA or going to be a high draft pick.

Current NBA Players:

Patrick Mills (San Antonio Spurs)

Aron Baynes (San Antonio Spurs)

Matthew Dellavedova (Cleveland Cavaliers)

Dante Exum (Hopefully our Orlando Magic)

Ben Simmons (F 6'9") This guy could end up being a stud! Only 18!

Missing:

Andrew Bogut, what could have been if that freak Amare accident did not occur.

Feel free for people to add any notes, but I reckon this team is well balanced, only issue seems to be depth in the post. Australia has the length at F and G.

I managed to go see USA vs Boomers, but do not remember Mills hogging it, actually I do not remember much considering how plastered I got.... thank god for the photos, managed to sneak down to the media section a few meters behind the US bench and got some sweet photos.

There were a few games where he took way too many bad shots can't remember if that was one of them. All I remember from that game was that it was close till Kobe decided to try. I actually thought Ingles was our best player at the Olympics.

Yeah fair enough, like I said I was in a pretty unconscious state that whole Olympics, even though I was there and got some sweet tickets I still don't remember anything haha
