He'd be great next to a superstar, but we don't have a superstar. I'm afraid he might get selfish without a clearly superior player next to him.

We could have as much as $21.9 million according to Basketball Insiders, but that is based off the unguaranteed nature of Nelson, O'Quinn, Maxiell and Price's contracts.

 

Off what Orlando Magic Daily it will probably fall in the region of $10 million or so in cap space.

 

So depending on any moves with the likes of Nelson and/or Afflalo, we might have enough to sign Stephenson. Though I'd probably rather keep the Afflalo and Oladipo combination at SG for next season, with a rookie and Nelson at PG.

How would we move up to #11 with our second pick?

 

If Denver wins a spot in the lotto with our second pick; they move up to 3 (for example) and we get the lesser of the two picks which would potentially be the 11th. Extreme long shot, I admit...but we have 17 days to the lotto and another month til the draft after that

I don't think we waste money on 2nd/3rd tier FA's this summer (yes I realize LeBron is a FA, but lets be real) at the expense of having money to spend next summer.

Never once did I say grossly overpay him. I'm just wondering how much interest there is in him and how much he'd be worth. I say only about 8.5-9.0 million a year tops

Well the guy will be looking for a huge payday being that he's making next to nothing right now. Even if he were to come at a discount, there's no point in Orlando signing him. This team needs a go to scorer; Lance is not that by any means.

 

Oladipo is the PG/SG of the future and signing Stephenson would be redundant.
