D. Thorpe suggests Magic should try winning games next season

Recommended Posts

And even LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Shaq, etc all took a few years before they got in the swing and started winning. The only exceptions I can think of are Larry Bird (who joined a pretty good team with a lonnnng history) and Kareem, who was a freak of nature.

Jordan and Shaq were great from the start.

Great individual players, yes. Jordan wasn't able to have success in the playoffs until Pippen and Phil Jackson arrived. Shaq kept getting swept out of the playoffs until Kobe and Phil Jackson showed up.

jordan's rookie season the bulls went 38-44 and also had a pretty solid Orlando Woolridge for help. Year two he was injured. Year 3 the bulls went 40-42

Shaq was a different story

I would say that the addition of one player is pretty substantial if he boosts the win totals of a team from being a team with a top-3 pick in the lottery to a borderline playoff team in his first couple of seasons. It's usually an early indicator of greatness.

What say you.......Win games next season or Tank ??????

In the mean time while we're waiting for the Magic to be relevant again we can let Jareth entertain us......That guy is seriously FUNNY !!!!!

There is never a reason to tank.

1.) top draft picks are never guaranteed 2.) getting the top draft pick isn't guaranteed for losing

You play to win the game. Anyone who purposefully tanks should be removed from the league.

Just wondering with our new scouts if we arnt looking at the possibility of trying to grab 2014 1st pick overall and gun at the new stud Andrew Wiggins... He should and more than likely is on every nba teams radar and he hasn't even committed to a college team yet for his 1 year college career...he is the real deal and for sure to be the next Kevin Durant, Lebron James, Carmello Anthony...
