The Dwight Howard Drama Unfolds

Recommended Posts

So we get LA's first..... hopefully we could hold that for the future, when they start to tank

We get 76ers first..... which could be a mid round or under 15, possible buying chip into the top 5 if need?

We get Nuggets first.... could be the same as 76ers...

Did i miss any of this?

Remember Metta World Peace tweeted that he was leaving. So he's still likely going somewhere.

or maybe he's just screwing with our heads like he always does

Afflalo is $8mil/4yrs and Harrington is $7mil/3yrs (also he's terrible). Lakers can't trade any first round picks until 2017, Philly has pick obligations with Boston, and Denver's pick will be in the 20s.

Rob Babcock 2.0

Denver has new york's 2014 pick. We're likely getting two picks from denver and one from philly not la.

I like how we have months of brook lopez, houston's offer of martin, one rookie, and one pick, now people are freaking out over this trade. This is the best trade that's been rumored to date.

Agree and it isn't close

your acting like it not gonna happen. there's still a great chance that it does

dude, its ESPN reporting w/ chris broussard. Broussard is a nice guy but he's been wrong a lot. Just read the article yourself:

Sources close to the process told Stein and ESPNLosAngeles.com's Ramona Shelburne that a trade call with the league office has been scheduled for Friday to secure the necessary NBA approval to make the deal official.

that just sounds goofy. I wonder how many times teams call the NBA office to make sure a trade is within parameters i.e. a lot.

Afflalo isn't bad at all. I think he'd be a much better fit on a contending team, but he'll bring the grit on the defensive end that we've lacked for a few years. Plus, he's a great outside shooter.

Vucevic is a decent young big.

Harkless is a good prospect.

Harrington? No comment.

If the goal is to rebuild wants the point in Afflalo? He is 27 already and you figure rebuild at least 3 or 4 years so he will be 30/31 by then and he is already not that great of a player IMO.

So basically we are trading Dwight for Mo Harkless and 3 late round picks and one of them being a pick in 2017!

How do the Lakers end up with signing Nash, keeping Gasol, AND getting D12? What the hell man? God dammit.

Lakers = Illuminati haha

Agree again. People here really believe HOU offered all its rookies, all its future firsts and wanted to take back all our bad contracts.

Lay off the crack pipe

ESPN just took a SC break during the football game and said "Dwight Howard traded to the Lakers. How will we fit in with Kobe?"

They act as if it a done deal.

it pretty much is, you guys are spoiled by all the others failed deals(all those carmelo deals, d12 to houston, brooklyn). this is the only trade that's gone even close to this far. the only way this doesn't go down is david stern veto's the deal or somebody doesn't pass the medical procedures before every trade.
