The Dwight Howard Drama Unfolds

Recommended Posts

Yes. So there's no point in including the Lakers since we'd still be getting Houston's end of the deal. Unless Dwight and Bynum commits to Lakers and Rockets, respectively, i don't see a Orl-hou-lal deal ever happening. We will just end up getting much less in return compared to a straight up deal with hou.

why LA hv no confident to sign howard with extension contract after season while houston hv ? why magic scare that Bynum may leave after one year while houston believe howard won't leave them as huge money loss ? all this just because houston nothing to lose ?

so the issue is not Bynum commits but rob prefer houston's picks and the ability of absorbing magic bad contract , that's all

If Bynum commits to Orlando? Man, Hennigan might just do that deal instead.

David Aldridge was just on NBA TV:

Nothing imminent but it could change any minute. Rockets are saying they've cleared as much room as they can and are basically telling Orlando that they have their offer out there ORL should go see if they can beat it. If not they will come back and deal with HOU. Aldridge says the ROX have "exactly" what ORL wants.

Will Dwight be healthy enough to play this year? Any gauge on how ready he is?

-Coming off back injury and it is serious stuff. Might take a couple of months for him to come back. Have no answers right now on where he is right now. Won't know anything until training camp where he tries to pick up pace a little bit.

Even if he doesn't commit he isn't walking away from that 5th year. Especially with how injury prone he has been.

Sure wish something ANYTHING would hurry up and happen, this is so old and tiresome. Just get it over with! I dont see how any thing we get will be worth it but it has to happen. 1 superstar franchise player that makes anyone a contender for everyones dirty bag of laundry, some smell less than others but either way we get shafted.

Keep in mind, this mentality a week ago would have netted us Lopez on a max.

Patience.

Hennigan is currently trying to play the Lakers and Rockets against each other.

The deal he really wants? he wants a deal with Houston where he can clean house and rebuild w/youth and picks but in order to squeeze out what he wants, he needs another dance Partner.

Hennigans last resort/fallback option is dwight for Bynum with other pieces involved. but he WANTS Houston to step up

Henny needs to grab the picks and youth from Houston, and then angle for Bynum in FA in 2013. The Lakers deal keeps us at mediocre, IMO.

And if we miss Bynum in 2013, and end up picking 5 or later; the Houston deal probably sets us up for purgatory. There's risk either way. There's risk in keeping Dwight here. Not really sure there's a fool-proof answer here.

IF we land Bynum, he could walk anyway, and he probably will because we would still have no future....
