Dwight Howard All NBA First Team Defense

Recommended Posts

Congrats to the coaches for getting this one right although the same cannot be said about the rest of the guys. Chris Paul and Serge Ibaka. LOL.

Center: Dwight

Forwards: Lebron and Ibaka

Guards: Paul and Tony Allen

AI2 didn't even make the second team. Also Joe Johnson got 2 votes and Carlos Boozer 1 so obviously a couple of coaches have a sense of humor.

Don't agree with the teams. Durant statistically was actually an elite wing defender this year. His opponents FG% was better than anyone else and he's not on either team?

1st Team

G - Tony Allen

G - Iggy (screw it, he's a SG on most teams)

F - Durant

F - Lebron

C - Howard

2nd team

G - Paul (just cuz the steals)

G - Avery Bradley

F - Iblocka

F - Garnett (even though he made his mark as a C this year)

C - Chandler

Have they said who is the DPOY?

Tyson Chandler was. Which shows how blind sighted the media is considering they vote for those awards and the coaches vote for the all NBA awards.

Ibaka sucks at defense.

Dwight was still the best defender in the league last year.

Agreed. All Ibaka is good at is highlight blocks. He is not the best man-to-man or pick and roll defender.

He's still learning the game and is just relying on raw talent right now. Give him a couple years and he'll be up there.

But I agree, he's pretty one dimensional.

Yeah completely. I was not ripping on him, just bringing up his weaknesses and why he should not be in talk for DPOY atm. I think he will improve 10 fold in the next few years. He will really need to improve his Offensive game as well though.
