the notorious S.A.C. 89 Report post Posted December 9, 2011 There were 20 something of you who thought he should be retained. Im going to go out on a limb and say youve probably changed your minds by now. Congrats welcome to reality. We certainly dont have anymore "fools gold" on this roster but we do have a fool for a gm for assembling a horrible club.

Fultz4thewin 2,464 Report post Posted December 9, 2011 Can you come up with a rational justification for firing a gm the first day of free agency when we're trying to field a competitive team to keep our superstar. Nobody is saying "i love otis and we should give him a contact extension". We just recognize that now (or in june) was not the time to freak out and make a rash decision that would hurt the franchise both short term and long term in order to appease fans who want otis to be punished. He will be held accountable for whatever happens. Now is not the right time though.

He will be held accountable for whatever happens. Now is not the right time though. Its more than just the first day of trading for big baby that has everyone upset. He has consistently shown us he cannot build a team to compete and sustain it. Our team is arguably the most nonathletic team (besides D.Howard) in the NBA. We have poor size and speed on the court. We build around 3 point shooters who are streaky at best. No one on the team drives to the basket aggressively and its appalling. We started on a good foot with Courtney Lee when he was drafted and then we trade him. Dwight has a good reason to want to leave because he sees Otis' inability to surround him with a Championship caliber team. We had opportunities to get legit free agents prior to last season, and if we dont get Nene at least, this will be another squandered free agency.

Dwight Howard likes Glen Davis because he plays hard. Also why would you want Nene?

Nobody is defending the result of otis' moves. Its easy to see we aren't an elite team. now isn't a good time to fire him though.

Cactus 83 Report post Posted December 9, 2011 Otis hands out 4 year contracts to mediocre players like mars bars, I can't stand this trash anymore.
Hokupguy 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2011 I say if dwight s not here at the start of next season Otis should not be either. But if the trade rumors that I he is try to do to get players to "play" w/ dwight are true and go down. Can be enough for him to resign and put a end to all this... 30Assists 342 Report post Posted December 10, 2011 On one hand, his past trades have put us in a bad position for getting pieces to help us, but he's making good moves so far. Bass for Baby I'm willing to bet is the coup of the century - Garnett is going to choke Bass to death in the first quarter of the first game. Arenas would have been a great move had Arenas been more like he was a few years ago. He wasn't, he's amnesty'd: good move. Some of the other moves are head-scratchers, but even the VC one looked good at the time.
