Offseason Thread Part VII: The Fall of The Lockout

Recommended Posts

I almost want Dwight to be traded.

But he has to face the same criticism Lebron did. He won't be the good goofy guy anymore. Whoever quits on his team (like he did vs. Miami) needs to be criticized for it. Needs to be hated.

He has to fear going to Orlando for the All-Star Game. To listen to the crowd chanting against him.

He has to face this situation like a man. Something Lebron did and he didn't. He just quit.

And he's just stupid because the Heat will still be a lot better than the Nets.

Losing in the Eastern Conference Finals again? He could get there with the Magic.

The main reasons to not trade him to NJ now are:

1) He gets the full max contract he can get here if we trade him by Jan 1. Why would we give Dwight a reward for leaving? Make him leave 30 mil on the table.

2) NJ's pick will be exponentially better if we wait until the deadline.

3) The money the Magic will make with Dwight here half a season is worth more than that garbage we are going to get from NJ.

and finally...

4) If we can wait until the deadline then we can put all and any players in trades and hopefully get a piece to keep Dwight happy (in Orlando).

Play this out like the Lakers did in the Kobe situation. Not saying we will get the same results, but it beats trading for Softie and **** draft picks.

I like it. And if its not possible to keep him the Magic could trade him just before the All-Star Week to make him feel hated the most.

If he quits on the team while still in Orlando, the Magic's pick will also be good. Maybe the Nets have a slow start in the season and he can't make them go to the Playoffs with just the games after the All-Star break.

Basically this.

Send this to Otis

The amount of people loosing their minds over a preseason game is simply astounding. And everyone complaining about Dwight's words last nights are simply looking for reasons to go after the guy. What should he say. "Screw these guys, I'm awesome and just didn't feel like playing?"

You don't think him telling his teammates that "we're all in this together" is gay, being that he has asked for a trade (and essentially threw his teammates under the bus in doing so)?

Trade inked today, yesterday, tomorrow, last week, next week... I smell Nets PR drama to keep Deron happy there... if that's the case, at least they're doing something and leaking (maybe fake) info to get some talking going... Otis is silent. Which actually is nerve wrecking because we know he makes his deal in secrecy.

Which means something might just be going down.
