Offseason Thread Part VII: The Fall of The Lockout

Recommended Posts

Seems legit.

Even if this is legit, it really doesn't make any sense unless Dwight just wants the bright lights. He gets the most money here and can play with D-Will if he wants. I don't understand why we have to overhaul NOW, rather than wait. He isn't winning **** no matter where he is at the end of the season.

How can we get dwill? Their owner will never trade him for our laughable "assets" when he just sold the farm last spring to get dwill. No one would take hedo or Gilbert w/o taking Dwight so we can't clear cap space. The best we could possibly do would be monta but GS won't want Jrich since they're not getting cp3.

The picks are going to suck regardless of what team CP3 goes to and the Clippers pulled out anyways and minnys pick isn't going to be a loto pick like most people think it will.

If they get a first from the Lakers and Houston, then they will have 3 total first round picks which includes there own lotto pick and like I said the players they got can easily be flipped for more picks, this is the best deal they could have gotten by far, all thanks to Houston.

You have minnesota making the playoffs?????

Who are they better than? LA? Memphis? Dallas? OKC? SA? Portland? LAC? Utah?

sure they wont only win 17 games this season... but playoffs?

My friend called me and said he just had a drink with duhon DT and he said "10% chance Dwight is here at all star break. Lakers for sure". Time to wake up and realize he's gone. I'm sure lakers will get a 3rd or 4th team to sweeten deal with players/picks just like with Houston. Welcome back to 1996, and welcome to the competitive balance the new CBA brings us. Thanks NBA

I know you can't answer this but even if they bring in 10 teams they have what to send out? Bynum and Artest (does he still have value?) so basically..Bynum. What does a center with an attitude and a lengthy injury history get you? They sent out 27 million in salaries to make the Paul trade happen, Bynum is due to make 16 next year, what package of players worth anything is going to total 16mill?? He also is on a team option next year and then that is it, basically if he doesn't want to go somewhere he can pull the whole I won't re-up card, what team in a desireable destination with assets is out there? I'm asking all these questions because there isn't a team that fits this description out there.

For everyone saying no way la can get Dwight with Bynum, what would we all say if someone told us yesterday cp3 would go to lakers and all they'd give up is odom and gasol. IMPOSSIBLE. They will find another team to get involved to throw in other pieces just like they did with NO. If they did it with Memphis, NO, and Houston, why couldn't they do it to us? The only other trade is Lopez. Otis will fold and say he got as much as he could.

Two radically different situations. Chris Paul has been giving lists of teams he would like to get traded to. He's already had one foot out the door. The Hornets didn't want to have that kind of distraction for their team. Dwight still hasn't said anything. There's no incentive to trade him to LA, especially given our history with them.

Not to mention that the Hornets ownership isn't exactly in a win first mode.

I don't think they will be that bad this year, depends if they get anyone in F/A, but we will see.

Dwight has said on Twitter that God will make the decision... Which is pretty much skirting the question. I think Dwight has wanted to be a Laker for the last year, but does NOT want to be like SHaq. Which is more important to him? If D12 wanted to be in Orlando he would not bark at every Magic fan that begs him to stay on twitter, but ignore every Laker fan that tells him to come to LA.

Gasol and Odom are hardly just anybody. Bynum for Dwight would suck worse in comparison. Otis must say no.
