The Magic confirmed that J.J. Redick underwent successful surgery for a torn abdominal muscle on May 26.

The Magic originally said that Redick's surgery was for a sports hernia, but then changed their story. Either way, the 3-point specialist should be fine for training camp as long as he has no setbacks. And if Jason Richardson walks in free agency, Redick is staring at a starting gig. Monitoring Redick's rehab will be vital for those putting him on sleeper

The Wizards intend to retain restricted free agent Nick Young, according to the Washington Post.

Young is already on the record saying he will not be giving the Wizards a hometown discount. Combine that with the emergence of Jordan Crawford at shooting guard, and we're a little surprised that the Wiz won't let Young test the market. They may simply wait and see what kind of offer sheets Young receives before making a decision.
