Could be the end for a lot of guys

Recommended Posts

"It's been a good experience for me, coming to a team that accepted me with open arms," said Clark, 23. "I just look forward to staying here and building it with the team."

Clark, an unrestricted free agent, will gauge interest from other teams this summer, although he did say "I don't want to play anywhere else." Magic GM Otis Smith said he likes Clark but the two sides have not begun talks on a new contract.

Clark has the potential to be a legitimate forward, at either spot. He now weighs almost 250 pounds and his wingspan is 7 feet, 2 inches, second on the Magic to only Dwight Howard's 7-foot-5 reach. But even with that size, Clark is still quick and athletic enough to defend opposing threes.

Clark demonstrated his defensive ability at times this year, helping limit Kevin Durant and LeBron James to sub-par performances during the regular season. Magic coach Stan Van Gundy has said several times he believes Clark can be a "special" defender in the NBA.

Wow, I'm very happy to see Earl busting his butt to get PT. 250 lbs. is rediculous!

Okay let's get this thread back on topic.

We can't be letting a $20 Million per year player sitting on the bench, so here are my things that I want to see done this Off-Season,

#1) Sign J.R. Smith to full or part of the Mid-Level Exception and get Shane Battier in a Sign & Trade deal (Give him a 3 Year/$12 Million deal) from Memphis for Brandon Bass.

#2) Re-Sign Earl Clark to our Bi-Annual Exception

#3) Sign Fran Vasquez (Maybe salary cap experts can help me with this one. Do we have to use our Mid-Level Exception to sign him or can we just go and sign him without using any of our Exceptions?)

#4) Trade Jameer Nelson & J.J. Redick to the Trailblazers for Marcus Camby (Expiring and a Center that we need) and Andre Miller (Through Sign & Trade)

OUR LINEUP

PG: Gilbert Arenas/Andre Miller/Chris Duhon

SG: J.R. Smith/Quentin Richardson

SF: Shane Battier/Hedo Turkoglu

PF: Ryan Anderson/Fran Vasquez/Earl Clark

C: Dwight Howard/Marcus Camby/Daniel Orton

Not the best Off-Season that we can possible do, but most of those are very realistic possibilities.

JR is obviously in much better shape and is very capable of winning games for you but how do you control a guy that has never had to be under control?

A Dwight elbow to the face...
