Rose isn't even the best player at his position in the league. Really good player, but he's getting more MVP love than he really deserves. I think Thibs is the big reason for their jump in success, that team plays awesome team defense despite Rose not being a great defender.

Did I really get -4 for stating the obvious? Unless something drastic happens, Derrick Rose will win MVP. Stating the obvious doesn't mean I agree with the likely outcome.

 

Anyone who follows movies and the award season knows who will basically win at the Oscars. If you follow sports writers, hype, and trends, you know who the favorite to win MVP is.

But just counting this season you'd have to drop paul/deron/kobe because of production. Lebron has Wade. Durant has Westbrook who's been pretty amazing this season. Carmelo's been mopey and now splits with amar'e.

 

So you have Dwight, Rose, Dirk, and some flawed candidates like Lebron and Durant.
