Miller4Prez66 545 Report post Posted September 25, 2010 This is stupid, I'd rather have Vince than Devin Harris. Orlando could offer much better pieces No we can't, Vince's expiring does Denver no good as they can just let Melo expire and we don't have any young player with All Star potential to offer them. Manu Ginobili 61 Report post Posted September 25, 2010 I think i heard Favors was not included... or was he?

Well, they are getting AK47, who is an expiring, so to say they don't want expirings is false.
JRam027 26 Report post Posted September 25, 2010 Wait, so Utah is basically trading AK47 for Boris Diaw? Really? Did I get that right? I hope I didn't.

I said it doesn't do them any good if we don't have a young All Star to offer them. The Nuggets can build around Derrick Favors, they can't build around Ryan Anderson or Marcin Gortat. I heard the Jazz are backing out anyways.
VCplusD12 91 Report post Posted September 25, 2010 The Jazz would be dumb to do this, but they would get rid of a BIG contract, now the Nuggets will be a strange team. Al Harrington? AK and Kenyon? Devin and Chauncey? This is too strange to be true

KandiKane 136 Report post Posted September 26, 2010 Melo wanting to go to the Nets is silly. How are the Nets with no Harris or Favors better than the Nuggets? This is Stephon Marbury all over again when he wanted out of Minnesota and got traded to the Nets. With the Nuggets significantly weaker, the only teams the Lakers have to worry about are the Thunder, Blazers, and Jazz. The West is the new East. Now if Favors turns out to be Garnett or Duncan like Avery Johnson says than the Nuggets will be laughing their asses all the way to the bank while the Nets continue to be bounced in the first round year after year. Seriously though it makes no sense for Melo. Spurs? Rockets? Mavs? man you left of possible 50 win teams... even with Denver gone, the Blazers/thunder/rockets are all getting better, and you would think at the least that Mavs Spurs and possibly Jazz would still be the same if not better. The West will still be deaper than the East

The statement was that the only teams the lakers have to worry about are the Thunder, Blazers, and Jazz. Which is incorrect, clearly Mavs and Spurs will still be up there.
