Confirmed: Magic sign Malik Allen Update Pg. 2

Recommended Posts

Allen’s best year was 2003, when he averaged career highs of 9.6 points and 5.3 rebounds for the Miami Heat. Also, as Philip Rossman-Reich notes, Allen is a certified Magic killer — his 8.3 points per game against the Magic is higher than his output against any other team.

The guy was probably signed just to go against Orton in practice and to show him the ropes. Nothing more.

Calm down.

Yea it would make sense to bring Malik Allen in to show Daniel Orton the ropes, we're clearly grooming Orton to be a 4 primarily concerned with shooting the ball, Brian Cook 2.0.

Malik Allen isn't a star or even a sixth man, but he's a far better player than B-Cook was, imho. Everytime Cook made a shot, it was pure luck. Malik Allen has been a certified Magic killer for years, and has a more dependable midrange game than most of our team, and probably rivals BBass in this regard.

I meant Orton would be Cook 2.0, Malik Allen is the OG Brian Cook, Allen is in fact Brian Cook's grandfather.

The simple point is that Allen coming to camp has nothing to do with young Orton.
