We will have Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony by 2012

Recommended Posts

I think that is a decent trade. However, I think we ought to go all in:

http://games.espn.go...tradeId=27zh9pc .

I'm sure it would also require at least one pick.

PG: Billups, Duhon, J-Will

SG: JJ, MP, Q-Rich

SF: Melo, MP, Sticks

PF: Lewis, Bass

C: Howard, Birdman, Orton

I'd rather keep Jameer. I could see Denver using Billups' contract as part of their rebuilding process, and they already have a cheap version of Jameer in Lawson. But if they wouldn't trade us Melo without swapping Billups and Meer, then I'd do it.

They'd want to dump Birdman's contract for Gortat's bigger contract?

Given Tat's upside and major age difference, I would guess they would much rather have him than CA.

Gortat would probably start and Nene would move to PF. They would be paying a good price for a starting center. However, there is another variation of this trade on ISH, which I think would be better for Denver. http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=187647

Denver could just include Birdman in the trade.

Jesus, buddy! We would be 80 kabillion dollars over the salary cap!

I like Jameer but would prefer Billups. Even at his age, he's a better player than Jameer. His experience and veteran leadership would be a nice addition, too.

The downside in trading Jameer is I believe it would end the Paul speculation, as I'm sure NO would much prefer a young Nelson to an aging Billups.

All that being said, I'm obviously completely throwing stuff against the wall. I seriously doubt Otis would include Jameer in a trade except for Paul. He loves the kid.

Would we have enough cap space in 2012 to sign CP3? I looked at hoopshype but I know Shard's contract is weird that year. Just looking at it though, it looks like we'd have to trade some players for cap space in order to do it.

What do you think we've been talking about for the past 3 hours?
