good news for us is it's front loaded (reportedly) so if we do match, it becomes more attractive as a future trade piece.

Good point. We can afford the hit this year, after that it won't be as bad.

please explain..

this is what I want to hear too. Just because ppl don't read about us in the papers and the only move so far is replacing our caveman backup PGs, they're calling for Otis' head. At least wait till August before you judge our offseason & Otis.

We've barely done ANYTHING and we're still top 4 team in the LEAGUE. Think about that. dam, fans are acting like spoiled brats. Should we go back to the days where our biggest transactions where signing Keith Bogans and re-signing DeClercq? or how about signing Jacque Vaughn and re-signing Air Pat?

Simmer down and be patient.

This has been a bad off season if your a Magic fan... Not as bad as when Shaq left.. But its in the top 5 of bad Magic off seasons.

I'm pretty sure I'd take any 5 of the 10 or so offseasons in which we didn't have the personnel to do anything significant. Those were probably worse.

I like JJ, but he's simply not worth 3-20. Reality, thats starters $, & JJ has zero ability to ever play starters minutes for a championship team. He could barely stay on the court against Charlotte & Atl in the playoffs due to matchups (S-Jax & Joe Johnson).

The idea of JJ head 2 head against Wade or Kobe for 30+ mpg at any point in the future is embracing 2nd tier & pretender status. Even against top tier SG's like Ray Allen who JJ defends well individually, he offers no defensive versatility.

The Magic already have too many bloated contracts on the books Otiz will need to flip into long term talent upgrades to add yet another. Hope Otiz manufactures a useful SnT out of this, but I can't complain if JJ is simply allowed to walk.

JJ has turned into a nice role player but he is not what we need now to make it out of the east.

We need strong wing defenders. Resigning Matt Barnes is very important.

I wonder if Otiz has been holding on trades until he knew what Reddick's value was. Now we know - he matches the $7M and combines it in trade with other assets.

Could a sign and trade with Chicago be possible for Redick? A player like Taj Gibson or Luol Deng would be nice in return.

*buries his head in his hands*

My heart says match, my head says let him go, or sign and trade.. or in this case, match and trade...

If we lose both Redick AND Barnes without replacing them, this offseason is a failure. I'm just sayin'.
