After the second time of watching it, you could infer that they're implying if the tournament if real Sub Zero WILL be there, and they're banking on it that he will be. The line you said word for word they didn't say, or maybe I've missed it twice now. I'll watch a third time to be sure.

It's a movie, gotta have the fight have some action and entertainment to it.

You never know what people do as a hobby in their spare time. It's not like there's NOT a dojo on every corner.

EDIT: Yeah, the line is "Sub Zero is alive and well and will be at that tournament". Which you could like I said, infer that they think it is real and they're banking on it.

Im not a fan of the Mortal kombat Movies, but if this is for real, this look so far better than the other movies. At least this teaser has some decent script, finally.

 

Mortal kombat 1 and 2 were just GREAT. After that the other MK were just not the same, i mean they lose something in the road.

Awful would be Street Fighter the Legend of Chun Li. Or even the JCVD film from 94 or whatever.

This looks FAR from awful. Like Osprey said, it's a popcorn flick. If they follow a basic storyline and make it so it resembles the game than they've done good by me. Throw a few winks and nods to the nerds and baby, you got yourself a summer movie stew going.

apparently it's just speculation after speculation. The fight choreographer posted on his twitter that it is indeed a movie, and that the short film was mainly made for them to get more funds and the green light to start it.

I don't buy the "pitch" rumor. You don't get real actors to film a clip to make just a pitch.
