"I'm a pass first point guard," said Bledsoe when I asked him to describe the type of point guard he is. "I like to push the ball up the floor. I'm an up tempo point guard. Me and John kind of did the same on the court." Bledsoe cited Chris Paul as a point guard he modeled his game after. Figured I'd make this official so it's worthy of it's own thread. Quote

KillingInTheNameOf Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Bledsoe isn't a pure point, but he's Kyle Lowry with more length, & a jump shot. He's a lotto talent imo. Avery Bradley is right there as well imo. Player I liked most 4 Magic, Paul George, is flying up draft boards, unfortunate. In other news, Luke Babbitt claims to be a stretch 4/combo forward, clearly the Magic's dream prospect. I think he's delusional, but I do like his game. If Steve Nash were a SF, he would be Luke Babbitt. Quote

pokwaPL Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 A little OT. Sixers want to trade Brand + 2nd pick. What do U think about it? Maybe we can give them sth for them or Brand is just overrated? Quote
Fultz4thewin Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 question is, Is evan turner going to be a 20 5 5 type of guy? if yes, then he might be worth taking on brand's contract. Quote
Captain Hindsight Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Armon Johnson Strengths: Point guard with excellent size (6'3) and strength to handle the NBA PG position ... Very quick and athletic player which when combined with his size makes him intriguing ... A lefty with excellent one on one skills and the ability to create baskets off the dribble ... Has a pretty lefty pull up off the dribble ... Gets excellent lift on his shot and has a fluid release ... First step is extremely fast making him a tough player to stay in front of ... Shows excellent ball handling ability and the vision to find open teammates for baskets ... While he's not a natural at creating offense for others, he has shown improvement in that area ... Owns an effective crossover ... Fearless going inside and challenging bigger opponents and finishing drives with floaters or attacking the rim ... His body strength allows him to absorb contact and still finish ... Solid 75% ft shooter ... Has a good feel for the pick and roll ... Defensively he doesn't get a ton of steals but does a solid job of using his size and quickness to neutralize opposing guards ... Doesn't gamble much, plays solid fundamental defense ... Has shown steady improvement over his 3 years at Reno ... Has proven to be a clutch performer ... Quote
Captain Hindsight Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Eric Bledsoe has a huge ceiling but he's a project. He never got much time to run the point for Kentucky. His turnovers are also a problem. Given the proper coaching, he could be a stud in the NBA. Quote

Sinister Grin Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 I can see the 76ers trading Brand and their pick to the Nets for cash and Yi or Lee so both teams would have money to sign one of the better free agents this summer. With Vince they would have to wait until next year when the quality of free agents are far worse unless they could land Melo of course. Quote
shakaho Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 The Magic put a high priority on 4 years of college. Freshmen and sophomores are not likely picks. Quote
