As the resident Pokemon expert, I'm to have to disagree with you on this one. For one, Blastoise is infinitely cooler than Charizard. Also, Blue had Meowth as an exclusive monster, which evolved into Persian, one of the top Pokemon of that generation. Also, pretzels.

So from now on, the lead....I don't want to say "villain" because he's really no worse than anyone else who's leading a faction in the game(which is the whole point), but the main faction leader in Fallout: New Vegas, a guy named "Mr. House", should henceforth be known as "The Wizard of Oz", because they couldn't have ripped off that concept more thoroughly.

Ok, me-worshippers:

 

I feel obligated as your patriarch to be honest with you all, and steer you all in the right direction.

 

Fallout: New Vegas has most of the elements of a GREAT game.

All-time great.

Red Dead Redemption on a rocket that turns into nude-ninja-Adriana-Lima's fighting the Predator great. But it isn't.

 

It's a buggy, buggy, buggy game on a graphics engine that was already a little old when Fallout 3 used it 2 years ago, an eternity by graphics standards these days.

 

All that is immensely unfortunate because the plot of the game is awesome, and the faction system means you have to play the game a MINIMUM of 4 times to experience all of it, and I got to hack Chandler from Friends to death with a machete in a gladiator arena.

The monsters are innovative and interesting(I'll be having nightmares about the new Nightstalker enemies for the next decade), the main NPCs are really interesting, Hardcore mode is fun, and each faction is given just enough moral ambiguity that the brutal faction isn't necessarily evil(even though they do really evil things) and the democracy faction isn't necessarily good(even though their intentions are often noble).

 

Bottom Line: Wait til the price comes down a bit. By then, most of the major bugs should be patched away.
