I thought we needed to dump Dumby since early least season. Then I was 100% convinced after watching the Magic being unable to run something as basic as a simple fast break in the finals.

 

The few times they tried to run one it was a disaster, ending in a turnover or a bad pass.

 

And not surprisingly. This offense is so used to stopping at the top of the key and passing slide to side to look for the open long jumper that it doesn't come natural to go all the way to the hoop anymore without stopping first.

Hmmm. The Celtics have lost to Philly, Indiana, and Phoenix. I would say that Philly and Indiana qualify as terrible teams, wouldn't you??

 

Cleveland has lost to Toronto, Chicago, Washington, Charlotte, Memphis and Houston. Besides the Rockets, I would say most all of those are lower tier teams.

 

We have lost to Detroit, Cleveland, Utah, Phoenix, OKC, Miami and Boston but did beat the Celtics at their house. Detroit is really the only lower tier team on there.

 

My point? Even the big boys lose to what you would call inferior teams, looking at the schedule, moreso than us so far. Any team for the most part can win or lose to anyone. There is no guarantees in this league.

 

We are not perfect and we need to improve in many areas. But considering all the injuries and the suspension, I think we have done well to be where we are.

 

Orlando is also 7-7 against teams with a .500 or better record, with only 2 of those wins coming on the road.

 

By contrast, Cleveland is 10-3 (5 wins on the road) and Boston is 6-3 (5 wins on the road).

 

After watching the Cavs dismantle sub-par teams last year and not make it past the ECF it became quite apparent to me that it's not about who you lose to but who you beat. The Cavs were awful against the top tier teams last year. Different story this year. I think any team would gladly sacrifice regular season wins to be able to knock off more of the upper echelon teams that will be encountered during the playoffs.

we are so bad, we are tied in the loss column with Cle, 2 games behind Bos and 3 behind LA and our full lineup played only 2 or 3 games together

It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, a win is a win. At the end of the day, we just move on to the next game regardless of what happens previously. I know I'm not going to be thinking about how many blowouts we've lost when we're sitting at a #2 seed with a 60-22 record.
