    Why isn't Brandon Bass Playing?

If doesn't take a dumbass to "know better than Stan". Even you must have figured that out. However, it does take a real dim-witted fan to believe and swear SVG's "decisions" are good for us. quote: Originally posted by echo4papa:Obviously you just have a bad sense of humor, and thus, know nothing. ps: At least Pancakes makes me laugh sometimes, but you?? Why isn't Brandon Bass Playing?

There are a very limited number of plays under a Stan Van Gundy. The problem is Stan Van Gundy flat out can't script Brandon Bass's skills set into the team nucleus. See the Magic is a team where 90% of the players skills sets have such a specific fit in the single dimensional attack they run. That they're a team that's generally on auto pilot and with their made to order positional similarities they require very little coaching. However, with Bass not being a shooter and more a physical around the basket type skills set. To script him in requires coaching. Which to do that the clipboard orchestrator would have to be rather skilled at how to do it,..and that's a task that exceeds a Stan Van Gundy's abilities. So you'll continue to see sheer auto pilot shooting displays. Where Brandon Bass will remain the odd man out until he's either traded or the ownership of this Magic franchise. More sensibly rethinks their working friendship accord with Stanley and favor hiring a skilled basketball mind. To coach the assets from the clipboard position as to not have such money, talent and opportunity to continue to be squandered,..re-look at the 2008-09 NBA finals. When I stated Bass was bad money spent by the Magic. It wasn't because he can't play or that he's not worth the MLE. It was because Stanley's the coach and I knew Stan Van Gundy wouldn't have a clue how to infuse him. See in order to not over expose a Stan Van Gundy's ominous limitations. Unless you're a Dwight Howard in the post, if you can't shoot from range or create a size mismatch he'll have no idea where to fit you in. Not only that but if the team has a night of shooting less than 40% from range. He has no idea how to re-script the attack to win any other way,..even with having a trio of young active, physical strong big bodies like Howard, Gortat and Bass to take the load off those shooters. bro, that's one of the few intelligent posts anyone on this forum has ever written I should have read the whole thread, but with the people that post here you can't fault me "team on autopilot" so true, and it's so obvious. The only "play" we can see is small guards trying to get Howard in foul trouble. And desperation 3s at the end of games to pull off yet another ugly win. Stan Van Dopey's lack of any idea how to coach an offense was obvious in the finals when the Lakers showed us paint points, and not girly 3s is how real teams win a series. Ain't no way Dumby last another season, despite Magic management been known for being slow to react regarding coaching decisions and making extremely stupid ones when they do. I predict he'll be fired sometime during the upcoming season (assuming the team does a better showing in this coming post-season).

I have no idea how Rondo got into this conversation but.. ok The Celtics know the way to beat the Magic is Rondo driving (after going by Meer and Lewis) and crashing to Howard so Howard would pick up a foul Won't happen if Bass is there, and you can bet your $ on it.

The mere fact alone that he plays with "heart and hustle" isn't enough. I could go out there right now and play with more heart and hustle than the entire team. Would that make me as useful as the rest of the team? No. Also, everyone keeps talking about how bad we are at rebounding, and how Bass would fix all of that (with his whopping 6.4 rebounds per 36 minutes), yet we're 4th in the NBA in rebounding (and a +2.59 differential). That's not bad at all. It's actually great. We're 6th in the NBA as far as rebounding differential as well. I'd quote that since it's from the other thread, but quoting myself would be... yeah. excesively undersized? hahaha this post has the markings of a true Van Dumby homer ..don't worry, without quoting yourself it's ridiculous enough
  6. oh and i love it how we're near bottom of the league in FG % and our 3pt percentage isn't even near the top 5 according to that article. But I'm 100% sure that's not enough indication for "the great coach Stan Van" to consider he'll get twice as much FG% accuracy if he scrapped his awful hard-on for 3s and went for the Howard + real Power Forward lineup. Only a real dumb *** would have Bass getting DNPs while marshmallow-man in Power Forward suit Lewis is getting more minutes that both him and Ryan Anderson.

All you SVG homers love to say that's the style for us and SVG's system of having 4 shooters at the same time is the right thing hahaha don't backtrack now We have that capable true Power Forward, his name is? You guess it. Big Bad *** Bass. Get this kid playing STAN VAN MORON!!!!!

"lolz, nice try though" This is a wierd bank. I can imagine the whole office must think Dumby is a god Besides the no sense of humor I suspect they also have the collective IQ of a shoe. "In Dumby we trust"

LOL (that's pretty sad)

Yelling and screaming stan, in fact, is. If he knew anything about the game and could actually coach, he could yell, be the biggest ahole in the NBA, and the players would still have some respect for him. What the hell was that exchange with the refs about singing a song? (talking about when he was wired live against LA). I thought Stan always says the problem is lack of focus? This guy cannot coach to save his life. I suspect he only got the assistant and Miami coaching job because his brother knew Riley.

  13. You guys are forgetting Nelson was our best offensive player before the injury. He was shooting an insane 50% from beyond the arc, was saving SVG's offense from looking downright awful, and had one of the highest FG%s among guards. Not only that, he was clutch. Hopefully Nelson won't become the next Penny Hardaway giving us only us 2 injury free years.
  14. I think Vince will be alright once another coach comes in and gets this team running an offense that makes some sense. At least when a player isn't having a good game he won't be showcased on a poor shooting night all game long, especially on national TV. Add that to the tally of things The Genius With The Mustache does to make us look bad, sometimes really bad.
