Bobby Bowden to retire.

FSU "was" getting beat on recruiting formerly because of Jeff Bowden and lately because most of our staff couldn't look a recruit in the eye and promise him they would be their coach for four years.

 

I fully expect FSU to be pulling in top 5 classes again with a full staff recruiting instead of just 4 or 5 guys.

He's either going to Auburn, Penn State, or South Carolina. If he goes to PSU, that means, that they get a 5 star QB, 5 star RB, and 5 star WR (if Coxson doesn't decommit and go to UF). He supposedly enjoyed his trip to PSU more than any of the other recruits that he visited with.

He ran the program into the ground because he was too stubborn to fire his son as OC and Jeff would still be OC if he hadn't had his hand forced. That was the beginning of the end.

 

Finishing 3 of the last 4 seasons unranked, was the deserved nails in the coffin. Especially when the last two seasons FSU was ranked were 23rd.

 

I see no reason for FSU fans to be optimistic Jimbo Fisher is the solution either. That was one of those moves that sounds much better in theory than it proves to be in practice. It hasn't helped recruiting the way it was intended & FSU is now married to a coach with no experience whose only offer previously came from Alabama-Birmingham. It's a very curious choice when FSU could have it's pick of head coaches.

FSU has had 1 top 10 class in the past 5. During their run of top 4 rankings, they were a fixture. They might be winning their fair share of recruiting battles for second & third tier prospects, but they aren't realing in the blue chips like they used to. That's evident by the dropoff in players they are sending to the NFL.

Jimbo probably has more to with recruiting than Bowden and I don't think he is the answer. The guy has had a lot of power while he has been here and the program has been crap. Don't blame Andrews either, the guy has been given some crap players to work with. This is the 4th best program in the state and people would rather play at USF.

Dude grow up, you provide no facts. Florida ST has been getting beaten in recruiting on a consistent basis. Yeah we had this discussion and you listed like 4 players on defense, silly me I thought a defense had more than 4 people.

 

They just had like a 30 minute segment about how Florida St is being killed in recruiting, not only by Florida Teams but by out of state team who snatch up the remaining talent.

 

Yeah the majority of the Florida St team got offers from Florida, use your brain here. So Florida gave offers to most of a 53 man roster and then managed to pull a top 5 class of its own athletes? You do realize that only so many scholarships are available right? The numbers don't add up and look at the roster, the talent is nowhere near comparable. Please don't bring up Greg Reid, he only went to Florida St because we are loaded at every position and he would be sitting on the bench. Meanwhile if he goes to Florida St he is immediately one of the better players on the team.

 

there is more than enough talent in florida to field 4 elite teams. UF is killing everyone in recruiting because they can generally pull in whoever they want.

 

The talent is comparable. We bring in a few 5* players every year. We also are probably gonna pull in Lamarcus Joyner widely considered the best CB in the nation and 2nd best player in the state of Florida

I'm not saying we have better recruiting classes than UF. But you have an attitude like you guys are grabbing up all the elite talent and we only get leftovers and ****ty players which is dead wrong.

last year we had the #7 class and you guys had the #11. This system is flawed though because it gives us a boost for having 21 commits while UF only had 16. When you compare the top 12 commits though you guys had 3 5* and 9 4* while we had 2 5* and 10 4*. Thats a pretty even recruiting class.

 

2008 you guys were #3 and we were #9

 

2007 you guys were #1 and we were #21

 

so we consistantly get top 25 classes (since jimbo has been here for a full recruiting season we've gotten 2 top 10 classes in a row) BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOO WE HAVE NOTHING TO OFFER RECRUITS AND NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY FOR US! Dude I never said you didn't get top 25 classes, thats expected. Thats easy, and Florida didn't have a lot of scholarships that year they went #11 because of a young team. So now you use a couple of players who haven't committed to anyone as an example? You don't know **** and blame everything on your coaches, well Florida beat us in basketball, are coaches suck, Florida beat us in Football,our coaches suck.

 

Give me a break Jimbo sucks, he hasn't been able to bring in 5 star recruits and todays youth don't look at Florida St as a place at the top of their list. They haven't been putting out NFL talent and that defense sucks because they can't get enough quality players to fit ANdrews system. They get no pressure and the CB's get burned in man to man coverage. Jenkins and Haden meanwhile will lock anyone up on man to man.

 

Florida can basically grab any recruit to fill a need, which Meyer does. A lot of 5 stars will go elsewhere to get the ball more or play right away, thats where Florid St lands recruits.

A debate would mean you have an argument, which you don't. Florida St loses because they don't have good enough players, simple as that. To blame a guy who put the school on the map and brought you 2 NC's which odds are another won't be coming anytime soon is idiotic. This is nothing more than a bunch of Florida St students and alum hating because their program is spiraling out of control.
