TreyTime 3 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 We needed a team like Italy to get screwed to fix this "disallowed goal" mess. It's one thing if USA gets screwed, some countries might even consider it divine justice because we dominate every other sport. With Italy getting screwed out of the knockout round I think FIFA will now take a serious look at having replay in the 2014 World Cup. It would only be needed for disallowed goals, which there has been three already that were all called WRONG by the refs. Two almost screwed one country, the third one actually did. I hope they do, but I honestly don't know what's gonna take FIFA to add instant replay on goals. This isn't the first time that it happens to a big team though. The US have about as many gold/silver medals in FIBA as Yugoslavia and Soviet Union, the only thing they "dominate" in are bronze medals where they have 4 and the rest of the countries have 2 or less. The US is also #2 in the current world rankings. Granted it's very debatable, debatable isn't dominant.

Obviously he doesn't watch much worldwide sport then. Back on topic, shocked that the defending champs have gone out 1st round and have to say this world cup is turning into world war 2 - the French have disappeared early. The Americans showed up last minute and the English are fighting the Germans Wonder if we will see the Spanish go out tomorrow. I think they have to win as I can see Switzerland beating Honduras and there's still the possibilty Brazil and S[ain could get each other in the 2nd round! COLOMBIANO 118 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 We knew coming in that France was having issues with their coach and off the field issues with some players and a 17 year old girl that they were rotating. The team was a mess and did not deserve they're out this early. Italy has shown that not only they are old, but they don't have a good young group that will represent their national team in the next world cup. Some how (and I can't explain why) they are lacking young quality players. England, while they played pretty bad their first 2 games, I think they're a pretty good team and could beat Germany on Sunday. and I hope Spain beats Chile, so they can finish 1st and make it all the way to play Argentina and then Brazil in the finals.
