Magic going in for Chris Paul

What would Paul nickname be if he comes here? I think with his combination with Howard, it should be sth other than CP3

I call you on Drew Gooden and Brendan Haywood. Haywood is a very good defensive center. He probably earns above his skill set but its not outrageous. Gooden has been a very solid player for years now. He deserves that contract, especially because he is exactly the type of player Bucks needed. Gooden is a player who, if you see his stats, you could not believe he isnt an all star yet. But you see him playing, and you cannot believe how he could be a starter. The amount of dumb mistakes he makes and the defensive liability he is. With Haywood, I agree he is very good defensive center. Basically, he is Kendrick Perkins II. IMO, 5M per season should be good enough, not 9M like now.

Matt Bonner 4 year - 16 million? Really, Popovich? I cant believe this.

    Rudy Fernandez

quote: Remember when someone on this board claimed he was going to be the second best non-American born player ever, behind only Manu Ginobli? Those were good, hilarious times. I think I said it. I dont remember exactly. Yes, I think he is going to be awesome if he gets starter minutes. But my statement was plain wrong, nonetheless.
  8. quote: The main thing with Pierce, as well as matchups in general, is not to just play defense well, but make the guy WORK on the other side. Thats why LeBron absolutely murdered PP in the EC SF, and will do the same again if Heat Vs. Bos meet up. LeBron disables Pierce, because he makes him so tired of defending him that he does not have enough strenght in the offensive side. I think he played some of his worst basketball in that series against Cle. Lucky for him Rondo and a rejuvenated Garnett saved his ***.
  9. Nobody can deny that what Rondo did in G2 and G3 practically decided the series. So even if he did not statistically DOMINATE Nelson, his superiority was very important (along with Pierce, Allen and the bench obviously great performances) for them to easily win the ECF.

How much worse is Nelson than CP3?

Devin Harris, Westbrook are arguably with far more potential and getting better. even Tyreke Evans is arguably. Andre Miller even dropped 50 points this season, but really I take that back his shot is terrible. but really the top 5 (CP3, D Will, Rondo, Nash, Rose) make the rest look like another league. I would take Jameer over Kidd, Billups and Arenas any day now. I think I would take him before Jennings too. Brooks seems quite good, but still we dont know if he reached his potential or not. 1- D Will 2- Paul 3- Rose 4- Rondo 5- Nash 6- Parker 7- Brooks 8- Jameer 9- Jennings 10- Billups

BREAKING: Matt Barnes to Lakers (PG. 16)

I liked that answer. Its better when you explain your posts. I do not think there is one particular flaw. I think the management was not savvy when it came to offseason decisions. I do think giving away Wallace when we signed Hill was a big mistake (I am sure you think the same). I do think that not holding on Billups was bad judgement from the basketball operations. I do think that T-Mac was not a top free agent when we got him. That was a big YES for the GM or whoever took the decision, because they gambled on a young kid with upside and he surprised us all. And what about saying we LURED Lewis? Are you kidding me? We were the only ones in the world who could have give him 126M!!!! How come Duncan stays "out of loyalty", and we havent had any player staying here "out of loyalty"?

BREAKING: Matt Barnes to Lakers (PG. 16)

quote: Yeah, but Duncan was more of a question of loyalty than anything else. It wasn't that the city sucked or wasn't appealing enough, it was that he decided to stick with Robinson and stay with the team that drafted him. Dont you think it is a credit also at how the Spurs organization is built and how they assemble their rosters and how everyone does their job?

BREAKING: Matt Barnes to Lakers (PG. 16)

quote: When has this organization ever had the chance to get either Wade or Kobe? I compared Howard's attractiveness with Kobe's and Wade's. I didnt say he did not attract THEM. We can be talking about any superstar now, you name it.

BREAKING: Matt Barnes to Lakers (PG. 16)

quote: Your reading comprehension is so bad that its almost like you are a kid. 1- Your whole "Lakers are traditional team" vanishes when you look what the Miami Heat have accomplished in such a short existence. 2- I said "The one time we DID HIT IT, the player left after 4 seasons", that was McGrady. So dont tell me I didnt mark it as an accomplishment or a positive. Actually, it was precisely what I meant there. 3- I never said we gave up McGrady for Billups and Wallace. I said "we gave away some amazing talent without knowing it" after the sentece that put a positive note on the McGrady thing. If you haven't learned it already, a COMMA can be used to separate statements from each other. I dont have to get anything right there. 4- We gave up Wallace and ATKINS for Hill on that trade. YOU get that right, schmuk. If you dare showing up trying to highlight your minimal IQ, then at least get your fact rights, or learn how to read. Therefore, I won't have to DESTROY you again. THESE are the statements I wanted you to refute, Echo. The other questions were for BMP. Are you sleepwalking today?

BREAKING: Matt Barnes to Lakers (PG. 16)

ButterMilkPancakes Posted July 23, 2010 02:33 PM Hide Post Yes, signing a guy that was averaging 20/7/6 WAS a great signing. What happened after wasn't our fault. It was uninformed (stupid) because you're talking down on a franchise for not doing things that are nearly impossible to do. Riley tanked. He didn't make any significant moves all those 4 years and only made it to the playoffs (where they lost in the 1st round) because of Wade. Out of all of those things you mentioned, the only ones worth noting would be the Lakers bringing in Gasol (I dare you to think of a trade that lopsided) and the Heat getting all 3 players (which hasn't happened since... Erving/Collins/McGinnis. There have been plenty of reports and articles that could very well support the idea that they've been planning all of that out, and you should check them out. ****, during the middle of last season, Riley himself said those were his plans, and just a year ago someone else reported it would be happening. No one wanted to believe it because it seemed too unrealistic. Never mind the Magic trading for the rights to Penny AND keeping Shaq, also signing Horace Grant as a FA. Winning is what get players interested, and there are PLENTY of players interested in joining Howard and the Magic. Only problem with that is that the team doesn't have any money to sign any FAs and you can't expect a team to pull out impossible trades a-la-Gasol. What about Garnett for Jefferson and scrubs? What about Jamison for Illgauskas (even though they did not win anything, it was lopsided for the Cavs)? Magic traded for Penny giving no less than Webber - Does it seem like those "steal" trades to you? Essentially, we gave an all star for an all star, it was just that Penny exploded in 95/96 and Webber in 2000/01/02. How is is that the most powerful big man in the whole league is not as attracting to the other players as for example Wade or Kobe? Cant it be that it has to do with the job of the Magic organization, or is it just that the city is not as appealing to them? Dont tell me about Shaq, because Shaq is not the only one who left us in the search for stardom. I am not TALKING DOWN a franchise. I already said that the key draftees were successful. SVG signing and the depth this team has are excellent, IMO. I am just saying that most offseason or deadline decisions not involving the draft were probably key to avoid us of a championship, not just now, but since 96.
