im hoping sktywise will note lees defensive effort in his stock report

held 4 guys to under 40 tonight (wade and 3 refs) but the numbers just caught up to him

lees stats 16 mins 10pts 3 boards + 5 on the floor and 1 correct call and 5 star calls

safe to say the star calls won on the night

Lee played well, in and around perhaps the worst officiating of the season by the refs, from the start of the game to the finish. Redick even got hit with a lame call. But Lee made Wade miss when it counted, Pietrus played good D in the first half and made big shots, and Redick made the free throws that mattered. The Magic won the x-factor matchup, at least the best that the refs would let them.

Great win for the magic. I try my best to not complain about the refs but this one is top 5. i mean wade is great and all but if those were fouls(which some were definitely not) on him then they should have called a flagarant 2 on whom ever attacked the left side of dwight;s head on that layup right there at the end. just insane. anyways we still win and it was always 8(yep 3 refs included) vs our 5 magic players on the court. Magic WIN!!!

It's probably because Lebron didn't play tonight.

Pietrus was outstanding defensively in the first half. I can't think of a basket Wade even had that wasn't the result of a TO or fast break. Beyond that, CLee & Pietrus did a pretty solid job on him with a huge assist from Dwight.

(sorry for the lateness, had something else to do right quick.)

Sometimes it's just good to be... wrong. Although I still have no idea how the Magic managed to win this game.

Stock Up:

Dwight Howard. (So much for Stock In The Middle, huh?

22 points on 8 of 11 shooting and 6 of 9 from the free throw line. 18 rebounds, a block, an assist, and 5 turnovers. Although one or two of those TOs were bullcrap offensive foul calls, to be fair to Superman II.

D-Wade, you had the right idea the first time this season you played in Orlando. That's D12's paint, and don't you forget it. Also, Dwight became the youngest player in NBA history, by a wide margin, to grab 5000 rebounds.)

Free Throw Shooting. (Night and day compared to the last Magic game. Orlando shot 21 of 27 from the charity stripe for 77.8 percent.)

Three Point Defense. (The Heat were not nearly as efficient as the Bucks were. Miami was only 4 of 12 from beyond the arc for 33.3 percent shooting.)

Rashard Lewis. (Make that three good games in a row! He played a little "Sharmin-ish" in the second quarter, but he seemed to get over that in the second half.

21 points on 8 of 12 shooting and 5 of 6 from Three Land. 4 boards, a steal, a block, and a turnover.)

Three Point Shooting. (Several games ago, the Magic were shooting in the low 30s from Three Land. Then a few games ago, high thirties. For the past couple of games, low 40s.

Tonight, Orlando shot 10 of 19 from beyond the arc for 52.6 percent.)

Team Rebounding. (Miami closed to within 35-31 at one point in this category, but Orlando used rebounding to keep the game close in the first half and hold onto a close lead late in the game. O-town outrebounded Miami 42-34.)

Mickael Pietrus. (When Courtney Lee got into major.. and undeserved.. foul trouble, Pietrus defended Wade well in the first half, and made big shots in the second half.

8 points on 3 of 7 shooting and 2 of 4 from downtown. 3 boards, 3 assists, a steal, and a turnover.)

Courtney Lee. (Despite getting raked over the coals by the referees, to put it very mildly, C-Lee played rock solid in the 16 minutes he was afforded to play.

10 points on 4 of 7 shooting and 2 of 3 from deep. 2 boards and a turnover. He also had an assist, but it was a BIG assist. It was a cross court pass that set up Rashard's huge three pointer with about a minute and a half left in the game. Lee also made Wade work and miss a few jump shots down the stretch of the game before he fouled out.)

Anthony Johnson. (Despite having a few of his usual boneheaded moments, I thought that A.J. moved the ball better than he usually does tonight. His terrible dribble into a 3 on 1 and getting blocked attempt at a buzzer beater almost single-handedly gave him a SITM, though. That was rough.

2 points on 1 of 2 shooting, and 4 assists against 2 turnovers.)

J.J. Redick. (He shot 0 for 3 from the field and stepped out of bounds twice (doh!), but Redick didn't hurt Orlando defensively, had a steal, and most importantly, had a 5 for 5 free throw shooting performance.. and two of them made it a two possession game to seal things at the end.)

Stock In The Middle:

Hedo Turkoglu. (Coming off a "Highest Riser" performance against Milwaukee, Turk didn't really play well enough for a Stock Up, especially considering his terribly lazy defense (individual AND help) in the first half. But he still played well enough to avoid a Stock Down, especially considering the bench couldn't make a play start rolling to save their lives, so in a "playmaking" sense Turk was a Godsend tonight.

16 points on 5 of 10 shooting, 0 for 1 from Three Land, and 6 of 7 from the foul line. 4 boards, and 5 assists against 4 turnovers.)

Rafer Alston. (He does what he normally does. What's up are his high number of boards, but that help defense... yuck, at times.

13 points on 4 of 12 shooting, 1 of 4 from downtown, and 4 of 6 from the charity stripe. 7 boards, 5 assists against 3 turnovers, and a steal.)

Team Assists. (The Magic did what they've been doing lately. After a slow start, Orlando ended up with 20 assists.)

Field Goal Shooting. (Orlando keeps up the hot shooting they had against Milwaukee. The Magicians shot 35 of 69 for 50.7 percent. Hey, if you're gonna turn it over as much the Magic did, you better make the shots you DO get... and thankfully, they did.)

Stock Down:

Turnovers. (Well, this was easy. Orlando ended up with 21 turnovers. Quick, pass the bucket. The Magic had an incredibly pathetic 16 turnovers at halftime! I guess Zo's retirement party did something positive for the players, as they only had 5 the rest of the way. Good thing too, they were on pace for a Stock Hell in this one. To make matters worse, the Heat only had 9 giveaways themselves.)

Tony Battie. (Same old, same old. Over 11 minutes. He missed the only shot he took. 2 boards. 2 turnovers. He's standing at the [bleep]ing three point line instead of playing big. Like SVG would say, "Whatever.")

NBA Referees. (No description needed.)

Miami Heat Organization. (Creed? I mean, really?? For Alonzo Mourning!?)

That's all folks. Yep, turnovers were the nearly complete source for the problems the Magic had tonight. They were virtually flawless in every other area. Except for TB4's existence on the roster/getting more playing time than Gortat, of course.

Your Southeast Division Champion Orlando Magic are now 55-18, have won 6 straight games, and only lost two games in the entire month of March. They climb right back to 5 games back of the Cavs for Top of the East, and pull right back even in the Win/Loss column with the Boston Celtics. The Magic still have one less loss, as well as stay in Second place by virtue of winning percentage.

Until the Toronto Flop- ER, Raptors come to town....

Good night and good luck.

Awesome stuff. LOL at having the Miami Heat organization in the stock down department.
