Knicks and Magic trade talks go on!

I'd rather not change much up, dominant big men win championships and Dwight will be dominant against a front line featuring Bosh. The Lakers are still the class of the league and the Celtics have only been healthy enough to beat us like maybe a fourth of the past two seasons. Continuity is so grossly underrated, this team is talented enough to beat anybody and if unshaken will prove it, very soon.

  3. My sister was at Aloma Bowling Center working behind the snack bar when Dwight Howard walked in at about 11:30 last Thursday night. He made a huge order, called my sister a "sexy moma", tipped six dollars and left right after eating his food. The bowling alley closes at midnight and he was gone minutes before that, and after a close look at his minutes in the Bobcats series, I'm afraid it looks like a recurring theme.

You're angry over nothing. Kevin Durant will at no point in his career do more to help a team win than Dwight already does. Leading the league in rebounds or blocked shots, historically, is a loooooooooot more favorable for a team's overall success than having the leading scorer. It's ignorance that Durant's statline is considered on a Dwight/Lebron level because (18/13/2.7 on a significantly better team blows 30/7/2 out of the freaking water) and factor in the whole first round exit and likely winner of the NBA Finals and it is absolutely necessary that we demand more out of the media.

    The Rashard Lewis Appreciation Thread

Look back about 6 pages and you'll see I already addressed this claim. There were exactly 13 games this season that Shard scored 20pts or more and he only did it because he shot 57% in those games, 14% higher than his season average. 13 games out of the 72 that he played is 18%. I would hardly call that consistent. You understand ratios but not basketball? Seems almost impossible to me. Watch a game Smack. Watch one, and you'll understand why your love for numbers and statistics is just stupid. Rashard is a great offensive player because when he is on the court our offense is great. You have no idea what Rashard can and can't do because you just won't accept that successful team offense is predicated around team and there you'd be hardpressed to convince me of two phases of the game more influentional on winning in the playoffs than made three point field goals. Granted, the Magic are only 5-2 in playoff series Rashard has participated in and he only has like three game winning field goals in a little over two postseasons but his regular season stats aren't gaudy and impressive so he is grossly overpaid and probably our third best power forward.

It's ignorant to think endorsements find players & I'll bet execs do low fives under the table every time some celebrities hommie, mommy, or cousin show up for a negotation instead of an agents. Dwight Howard has plenty. So did Tyson, Holyfield, Pippen, ect, ect, ect... I for one will be glad if he skips the world championships. He needs an offseason far more than helping team USA satisfy their ego. Who cares if the world can beat the US' best amatuers? Pippen signed a front heavy, way under his value deal with the Bulls. He made like 4 times as much when he went to the Rockets didn't he? And do boxers earn over their career what a top 3 basketball player does? Honestly, I have no idea. Dwight will have earned like 200 million dollars when he retires and he's fine. And I like the logic with the international play.

Howard has said publicly he would play for Team USA in the World Championships, but those close to Howard say he might be looking for a diplomatic way later to bypass playing in the tournament. http://www.orlandosentinel.com...0426,0,1816631.story Fixed to show what we're all thinking. That's so funny, you're so clever. And I don't mind. I'd rather our superstar be making a lot of money from outside the organization, increasing his influence and relevance within popular culture , and not wearing out his knees. And seriously, if you think Dwight's solution to his free throw shooting woes are more practice you're just not intelligent enough to understand this sport at this level.

We then used prior knowledge of the players on the Mav's roster to form an opinion. Is that opinion now wrong, probably, considering SA's lead in the series. Is that opinion deserving of ridicule? Absolutely not because it was made using sound reasoning. Just an awful, awful, awful point. Heading into the season, three rosters looked outrageously stacked. Cleveland, San Antonio, and Orlando. Heading into the postseason, three rosters were playing like they are outrageously stacked. Cleveland, San Antonio, and Orlando. Antawn Jamison just isn't as good a basketball player as Rashard because when he was on a championship contender, he failed to achieve what his team should have and so far under Lewis all the Magic have done is overachieve. Shaq is just getting back from an injury that happened amid the "are the Cavs better without Shaq" statistical arguments. Orlando beat Cleveland last season. If you are playing simple logic and reason and have the Cavs winning the East, you're an idiot. Because they aren't the favorite, that is just factual. Better big man+Victory last sereies=favorite in every playoff environment in the history of the sport Great teams lose sometimes, better teams don't always win, and there's too much parody in the sport of basketball for enough emphasis to be put on any specific phase of the game besides the playoffs and how the players on each team have a history of reacting, the obvious favorites have been so for a long time. People just like to change their minds with every stretch of good or bad play.

    Three long seasons

And we finally have our first double digit win streak of the Van Gundy era by an average margin of victory of about 13.4 points. We have won 24 of our last 27 games and boast almost a +12.5 point differential in that span of time. The question to you is when does this streak end? I say either game 2 Cleveland or game 3 Atlanta.

So you get to wrong about everything you say and then try to correct people? This is just silly
  14. quote: Originally posted by playwithfire:The refs were bad for both teams.. not just magic. U are just a home magic fan that u don't see things realistically and you think everything is a bad call against them.... open ur eyes guys... dwight actually fouls people. O by the way if you want to comment on every play of the game... go to connecticut school of broadcasting in orlando. Or u can leave the commentating to the professionals Tell you what, since grammar, puncuation, and simple reason seem to not matter, you find me a clip of a possession that lasts at least 12 seconds in this playoff series and I guarentee that a foul was committed. Fouls can't be called everytime, because if they were the game wouldn't work. Better yet, if you find a touch for Dwight where he was pushed less than Thomas was on that watch-me-stumble-n-air-ball, joke of a call then you'd have an argument. Trouble is you seem to lack the intellectual capacity to realize that the difference between Dwight and the opponents isn't nearly as physically derived as it would appear, Dwight just isn't giving up any space or emotion, he is playing offense the way you would like. Anything he gets, he earns and any movement is one with the purpose of bettering his potential shot, not trying to cheat until the opponent isn't allowed to play anymore. The defenders are flat out cheating and the NBA really needs to stop so grossly favoring perimeter players If you fall harder than obviously necessary or warrented on a called sixth foul, you should be suspended for multiple games and lose hundreds of thousdands of dollars because if Sweet Lou spiked Queen James Gatorade with a substance that would get him banned, he'd probably be facing criminal activity. Anderson Varajeo gets to lie, cheat, and intentionally decieve the officials to his advantage, all the while it isn't just openly acknowledged, it's actually encouraged. Taking this a step further, the reason Andy lies, cheats, and decieves is to eliminate other guys from getting an oppurtunity to play. That's called cheating. It's out of control what Dwight endured that series and the absence of a national backlash is nothing short of embarrasing for the sport.

Let him in, if we wants to win it all, he better should be able to overcame the hack-a-Dwight Hmmmmm I'll pass on letting the other team use my players weakness and giving them an advantage. Well then you don't at all understand basketball. If Dwight is shooting the same percentage as his teammates are from the field, him shooting free throws is always a good play. In reality, however, he is going to make at least 60% when he starts playing his consistent minutes in the playoffs. Yeah, that's the equivalent of shooting 60% from the field.
