Mr Charisma 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2008 I find it amazing that none of us have bothered to even acknowledge the Rays performance this year. Now that the World Series is ready to start tonight, what are your expectations?

Secretly Space Jesus 670 Report post Posted October 22, 2008 I see Upton going nuts for some reason. I have no way of backing that prediction up. I just think he's going to play incredibly.

That being said, if I had to pick a second choice, it'd be Garza. That guy reminds me so much of mid-90s John Smoltz, it's terrifying.
Ned Ryerson 94 Report post Posted October 22, 2008 Considering the way Upton has played in the first two series... He will hit 3 HR's and drive in 8. Rays in 6.
Drain-O 369 Report post Posted October 22, 2008 Lets rewind first... 2002 NFC Championship Game: Tampa over Philly 2004 SCECF: Tampa over Philly I see no reason the trend does not continue Rays in 3.
Mr Charisma 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2008 For some odd reason, I'm actually thinking Crawford is ready to break out. But I should have made Upton a choice in the list instead of Pena. I expect the Rays to win in 5. Other than Hamels, none of the Phillies other starters would be in the Rays starting rotation. Lidge gives them an advantage as a closer, but David Price is downright terrifying !! But the biggest difference is simply AL vs NL. The 2 leagues are so far apart now, that I would have picked any of the 4 AL playoff teams to win the series against any of the 4 NL playoff teams.
