Orlando Magic @ Boston Celtics 2:30 on ABC
Air Gordon replied to COLOMBIANO's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
If they didn't suspend him for the blatant crotch punch on Frye last week then he'll get away with this one too. Garnett, unfortuntately, is a guy who can get away with anything in the league strictly because as you said he's viewed as "intense". I hate Garnett, he's a thug and one of the dirtiest players I can recall, especially of his generation. -
free throw shooting killed us tonight.. Dwight missing those free throws at the end of the 3rd is what sucked the wind completely out of the arena and really helped Miami get all the momentum.. Ryan and Gil also missed free throws tonight.. We left 15 points at the line and lost by 4..

JJ Redick was wide open in the corner right in front of Hedo... sigh

I think what we need is mental toughness and time. I highly doubt Denver has been turning down every offer they get just to hold out for a package of Jason Richardson and Ryan Anderson. This team has only been together 23 games and most of our key contributors are hurting right now, the all-star break will do wonders for us. I'd love another big man, I just don't realistically see a good enough one to crack the rotation coming here. We're gonna be fine, and Melo is not coming to Orlando...

CAVALIERS @ MAGIC POST GAME THREAD
Air Gordon replied to TrueMagicFan07's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Cleveland's bad... really really bad.. What happened to Antawn Jamison? He used to at least be able to put up numbers on a bad team -
After watching tonight's game and Jameer go out, I'm calling out everyone who says trade or bench Jameer. After tonight's game against the Bulls does anyone still hold the Jameer's expendable and Gilbert should start theory? I'm calling out a few posters specifically.. This team NEEDS Jameer Nelson to have any chance in the postseason..
-
First of all, the making up an injury or saying Jameer's injury prone was something more said about the trolls that hate Jameer just to hate him would say, I'm sorry out of context it sounds directed toward you, but it's not. You usually have some sort of stat to bring to the table and a lot of the things you say about Jameer negatively are in fact true. He struggles on defense against bigger point guards and sometimes his height does effect his passing, and when he's forcing it and trying to play hurt you can tell because he doesn't push the pace. This thread was more to acknowledge the heart, soul, and leadership that Nelson brings to the team because let's face facts, I've been roaming the board awhile (formerly Fear Jameer!) and you appear to be significantly harder on Jameer than anyone else on the team. Trading him would destroy our chemistry and benching him would destroy his confidence, we definitely don't need either of those things to win a championship. I'm sorry if it came across as hate, or putting words in your mouth, I'm not here to stir up trouble or get in an internet battle. I just, like the rest of us, want to see the Magic take the cake come June and I'll pop champagne with anybody anywhere on that day. Ya'll have take care and have a good weekend, making the trip to O-town and seeing la nouba 8-), I'll be back tomorrow night so don't be offended if I don't rebuddle right away

Gortat 19/17/2 against the Cs
Air Gordon replied to A BETTER DJ's topic in Around the NBA/Globe Game
Mark Jackson saying it shouldn't have been a foul when Garnett blatantly nut-tapped Frye at the peak of his shot was absurd. So glad they tossed him.. I hate Garnett, almost got to see Peaches fight him tonight too! -
The ones that specifically stand out are BJ and TMF, but I'm sure there's a few more.. wouldn't be surprised to see a thread or comment about how injury prone Jameer Nelson is.. they could even go to the questioning his "sore knee" ala Jay Cutler.. And I just want to clarify, I don't hate Gil, and I don't think he should be benched or anything, I actually like what he brings to the team from a few stand points.. This is a more + Jameer than a - Arenas thread
-
Don't forget if we didn't trade Shard, Ryan would still most likely be getting cosy next to Malik Allen on the bench.. Opening up playing time for Ryan was the best part of the Shard trade..
-
I was thoroughly impressed with everything about Dwight's game tonight.. Kurt Thomas is a good post defender, but his lack of height really hurt him, and Dwight played great.. even shot 75% from the line :panicworker:
-
hahaha, that's exactly why I made this thread... I'm curious what they have to say
-
All points you make are true, and you don't look stupid at all. Your point about Gil being terrible on offense when that's what we brought him in here for is what bothered me the most tonight, and that lofty cross court pass to Hedo with under a minute and we're down 5 that got picked off made me wanna vomit. I don't know if we would've won if Jameer didn't get hurt, but I know it wouldn't have left such a bad taste in my mouth. Dwight goes for 40/15 with 4 steals and 3 blocks and we lose. That's a shame and the kind of thing that makes great players leave towns unfortunately...

Jason Williams leaves the team pg.2 update - he has been officially waived
Air Gordon replied to BMP's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
From what I've seen Toney Douglas is having a pretty good year backing up Ray Felton in NY. I don't know how many teams will gamble on a 35 year old point guard with attitude problems and bad feet, but I wouldn't be surprised for Riley to give him a call. -

D12: "Guys Got to Guard the Perimeter"
Air Gordon replied to Captain Hi-Top's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Good to see it out of Dwight. The perimeter D has been a recurring issue and honestly playing the way we got comfortable playing a loss like this was bound to happen. I think ultimately this loss will be one of those good losses that helps a team realize changes need to be made. -
Arenas and Van Gundy Struggle to Find Common Ground

he got clipped by a sixer on an illegal screen (of course that went uncalled) and went back to the locker room near the end of the first half. 2nd half came along and he returned and looked okay -

Dwight committed the first one as well, early in the game after an offensive foul. I believe the technical was charged to Dwight without a delay of game being called. If the tech. was on the 2nd delay of the game it wouldn't be charged to any personal player, just to the team. -

They were later corrected by P.K. The technical foul, despite being announced as a delay of game in the Arena, was called on Dwight, his 13th of the season. -
