  1. I think both(Marc & Alpha) of your posts have good insight and are definitely things to think about.
  2. I think that's true of anyone that we would need and the situation we would need them for. Anyone coming in is going to have to learn the defensive schemes and rotations. Not to say your not right with Camby but he has the physical attributes and proven skillset to accomplish it. A la Gilbert who is slowly showing a defensive side under Van Gundy's system. It's really a pointless discussion we are all getting sucked into as he won't be here.
  3. Sure but the point being that Dwight goes down for an injury and is out for the game. Dwight misses a game due to a Technical. You need a guy that can be a solid defender behind him, beside him or in his place and he is it. Unfortunately as we have both said, it's never going to happen.
  4. Having Camby would be an ideal situation. He just had a 10 pt 20 rebound game yesterday. He's averaging 1.5 blocks per game in Jan. How many shots is he altering during a game? He's the perfect guy to spell Dwight or even to play a Twin Towers for a spell. We would use his defense and rebounding. We have plenty of scoring but the guy can hit the J too. I would love him and so would Stan but it's just not going to happen.
  5. Wow, what a great voice. That's a great story, thanks for posting.
  6. He was traded from Denver because they needed to shed dollars immediately and they already had bigs in place. Additionally, in the hopes of re-signing Carmello at some point(now), they needed even more dollars. The opportunity was there for them to trade Camby to LA as LA had earmarked that space to re-sign Brand(who we now know signed with Philly). He was traded from LA because they were a below .500 team going no-where and there were teams out there that lacked size going into the playoffs(sound familiar?). Portland(at the time) needed a quality big(I wonder why) which is why they went after him. He would be a great fit for Orlando but his price is too high for an aging center. We will never see him in an Orlando Magic Uniform. Regarding Jeff Foster, my understanding he is on the radar along with many others however Indiana is still in a play off hunt. He won't be an option until they are out.
  7. Jameer played great last night. I was waiting for coach to put him back in the fourth quarter. I suspected that the unit on the floor was just playing well together, not the reward specifically for defense. Arenas was good on defense last night looking back on it but I didn't recognize that as much during the game. That was a good article.
  8. It's not strange, it's happening. I was at the game last night walking into the tunnel when Gilbert had Dwight listening intently. Gilbert was giving him advice on something and Dwight was very serious, shaking his head as if to acknowledge he would do whatever it was Gilbert discussed with him. I didn't realize what Dwight thought of Arenas but it was clear he respects him and listens to what he has to say.
  9. It will be interesting to see what Otis does. He normally doesn't like to set the market for his own player a la JJ.. a la Gortat. Teams though are looking for PF's that can shoot and rebound. Ryan does both. If his defense picks up, he's going to be extremely valuable and pricey in the open market. If Otis could lock him up for a few more years at a decent price, he should do it.
  10. So that's two T's right? One for the outburst, the other for hitting himself?
  11. Just arrived home from the game. Whew, I thought for a few minutes that we were going to lose that game. Defense could not stop the 3 point shooting from New York. New York is a much better team that they have been. Amare Stoudemire is a stud. He was all over Dwight and it was clear Dwight struggled with Amare's defense on him. I will say that the refs weren't calling much of anything on either end of the floor. That took some time for our group to get used to. Danillo Gallinari ran into a brick wall named Dwight Howard on two monster picks. Wow. I thought he was going to fall down after those. He slammed into Dwight. Wilson Chandler? Where did this guy come from. He was crazy! The important take away was that our guys hung tough towards the end and made Big shots. JJ made some huge shots with the clock running down. He created his own shot twice for two huge baskets down the stretch. This was a good win for them. Frustrating but they didn't quit.
  12. I love the energy and crazy of this guy!
  13. He originally left to broadcast the Cub's games for his famous grandfather Harry Caray. He left that Gig and I believe went to Atlanta where his Dad announced. I believe he was let go from the Braves directly and now works for Fox Sports South, still covering the Braves and I think some other sports as well. I actually just looked it up and there was a link for him on TBS. http://www.tbs.com/stories/story/0,,44182,00.html
