The Magic has 11 games left in the regular season. You all know that I am a huge, diehard Magic fan. Now hear me out. In looking at the teams we play in the remaining 11 games of the regular season, my opinion is the Magic will lose 9 of them. Look at the schedule. If the Magic players try to play iso instead of moving the ball around to find the open teammate, we are going to be in a lot of trouble. We need to play at a faster pace and make our free throws. Lastly, the coach needs to make better rotations. Other teams are going to take advantage, scoring wise, if the Magic chuck too many 3s and they are not falling. What do you think? I HOPE WE WIN 9 GAMES OUT OF 11!

I agree. Anyone but Cole. As you said he was going to try to be the hero. As I said in another thread, this is going to happen with Cole in the playoffs if there is a close game.

CT, the last game Markelle played in, it was him coming off the bench. He did not take anything away from Paolo and Franz. He was able to draw attention to himself, leaving it open for Paolo and Franz to do their thing. Markelle did not clog up the paint each time Paolo went in for those thunderous dunks. While Markelle handled the ball, the opposing players were more focused on what he was going to do instead of waiting for Franz or Paolo dribbling into paint and triple-teamed while trying to make a layup.

Oh, come on, Harry (and others), next season Markelle will probably be 26 yrs. old. Player/coach? He is still a youngun. Haslem was well into his 30s and near retirement when he was used as a player/coach. I think Markelle has shown progress in a comeback in the last few games--baby steps. The goal this season is to make the playoffs, and the Magic has done that. I give Mosely credit for the minutes restrictions and resting Markelle and Isaac off and on because he knew that the 2 players, if healthy, could be of help to the team in winning a series in the playoffs. So, what is the Magic going to do in the playoffs. If Suggs is designated the starting point guard, and he gets injured, do you think AB is going to be any kind of help as the backup? I don't think so. He will just run and stand in the corner while Franz and Paolo run the point guard position. You wouldn't want Cole to come in as the backup. He's needed to come off the bench with the second unit (Moe, Ingles and Isaac) to pick up the pace. If the Magic wins a series in the playoffs, and Markelle does a good job coming off the bench, setting plays, do some Magic fans still want him gone at the end of the season?

I agree 100%. Look how long Klay Thompson was out. When he returned he was in a very bad shooting slump and Warriors' fans had given up on him. But look at him now, coming off the bench. I know Markelle is no Klay Thompson, but I think that what Markelle brings to the team is something you might not get in return from letting him walk. Markelle is 25 and Klay is 32. Here is a quote about K Thompson: ("'He never gave up': How Warriors' Klay Thompson endured 941 days out of the game."Jan 9, 2022) I don't see anything in AB that you can say he brings more to the team than Markelle. Sure, AB is a good defender, but he is not spacing the floor. He has only scored 1 or 2 times in a game--no 3 pt. shots--and that's it. We need to trade Okeke and some of those other bench warmers who only play if there is a garbage time game. There hasn't been too many of those due to a lot of close games that we won. Be careful what you wish for.

I think Markelle played very well last night. I'm very proud of last night's performance. As I've said before, I don't know anything about stats. For me, it's the eye test.

We need to have Ingles and Isaac to double Zion Williamson. Zion is thick and physical. His physicalness can draw fouls. Ingles and Isaac have played well together, defensively, the last few games. Zion is 6 ft. 6 inches Ingles is 6 ft. 8 inches Isaac is 6 ft. 10 inches I'm surprised Zion is only 6'6". I thought he was taller than that.

The team is putting it together now. They just needed a little juice. Don't listen to me. I don't know what I'm saying. :)

I'm not good at or follow the statistics, MagicMan. :) It's just something that I notice during the games, especially from a star player who has been making short or long range shots, and then go to the free throw line and misses when no one is guarding him. That's just my take. I'm surprised when Steph Curry misses free throws, and he has been doing that recently.
