THIRD QUARTER

I failed to mention the excellent job Keyon Dooling did guarding Allen Iverson in the second quarter. Iverson had eight first quarter points and when Dooling entered the game in the second, he held Iverson scoreless.

Turk makes back-to-back hoops to put the Magic up 54-50 with three minutes gone in the third quarter. Melo goes 3-for-3 from the line giving him a game-high 21 points and bringing the Nuggets within a point.

Mo Evans gets called for back-to-back technicals and is ejected from the game but it has seemed to ignite this crowd as Howard strokes two from the line to give the Magic a 58-57 lead at the halfway point in the third.

Lewis drains a trey but Melo answers back with a dunk off of an alley-oop as the Nuggets lead by four. Cook burries a triple and Rashard takes it strong to the hoop for two to give the Magic a 66-65 lead with 3:48 left in the quarter.

Lewis is on fire and cans another three to give him a team-high 21 points including ten points this quarter. The Magic feed Lewis the ball and he takes advantage by taking the ball strong to the basket drawing a foul sending him to the charity stripe. Lewis converts both as the Magic lead 71-67 as we head under three minutes remaining in the period.

The Magic isolate Lewis once again and he takes it to the rack slamming one home for his 14th point of the quarter.

Howard forces a turnover and feeds Keith Bogans for a breakaway layup to put the Magic ahead by seven as the quarter concludes.

End of Third: Orlando Magic 76, Denver Nuggets 69
