Darko no.3 - Most disappointing player ...Vince no.2

The reason the Magic have played better when Darko comes off the bench is he is backing up Dwight and Battie. Look who was there to support Darko as a starter. Pat and Bo! Not very good backups!

Exactly Bert. And Dwyer's a jackass in the first place. His NBA knowledge is very low.

Andrew Bogut is WAY more of a dissappointment than Darko. Hell, Jameer is a bigger dissappointment than Darko.

And what has VC done wrong this season!? He's stayed healthy, you can't blame this season on him or Kidd as far as the Nets go. Krstic is out for the year, and Jefferson might as well of been.

Great idea for a column, but someone else should of written it.

By the way, who was #1?

Regardless, the man is 21 years old. There has to be a point where he becomes responsible for his own actions. Although he might "outplay" Battie, the fact of the matter is the Magic have played better when Darko comes of the bench. We talk about this guy like he has the emotional stability of a coke addicted Vegas stripper. Man up Darko.

Hey I live in Vegas and I know one or two of those strippers, and I tell you no one can be that much of a head case, these chicks are nuts. However I do think that a large park of Darko's problem is the coach. Brian just doesn't have the patience to deal with young players that have to have time to develop. If Darko is going to have a chance to develop he can't just be sent to the bench when he makes mistakes on the court. He has to be told what he is doing wrong and sent back out there until he gets is right. Its hard for anyone to get comfortable on the floor when their out there thinking that as soon as they make a mistake they are going to be sent to the bench.

Bogut was in a weak draft, so people are not going to be talking about him as much. But Darko was drafted before Melo, Wade, Bosh, etc.

Vince is 13th in the league in scoring and hasn't missed a single game this season. Not sure how he can be labeled a disappointment.

Yes, Darko should have taken the bull by the horns. This was his year to break out according to many expectations. However, he has been short-changed by coaching.

There's gotta be a point in time Darko can be evaluated on his own merits, not where he was taken on the 2003 draft. Dumars made the mistake, not Darko. Anyone drafted before Carmelo, Dwayne, and Chris Bosh is going to be on the hole forever. That's Detroit's mistake, not hours.

Look at Chris Kaman, to his immense fortune, he was picked sixth, AFTER those three. Is he that much better than Darko? No, but no one questions his worth compared to Dwayne Wade or Chris Bosh.

Chris Kaman plays 28 minutes a game and gets 10 points and 7.8 rebounds, blocs 1.5. Darko gets 24 minutes, 8.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.7 blocks. Their stats are in the same neighborhood to say the least but one is an overachiever and the other a disapointment.

Dumars should get the criticism, not Darko. Darko is OK. Not great yet, maybe won't be great. But he's due a break from writers who want to lavel him based on their expectations.
